Super annoyed at these stupid clothing resellers who hoard product inventory and sell it at a premium. I wanted a suit costing 25k which was sold out on the brand website, reseller is selling for 39k!!! 15k margin for something you didn’t even produce ARE U INSANE
#TodayILearnt that the word ‘Shameez’ is actually derived from the french word ‘Chemise’, which means a garment that covers the upper body and fastens with buttons on the front 😭😭😭 apun shameez ko bunyaan ki behan samajhta tha

Throwback to the time when me, as a ye old jewelry business owner, was wondering how this pakistani girl in toronto was making money from her retail store because the sales volumes simply wouldn’t be enough to cover costs alone and later I found out she made a 50k$ loss in 2 yr😭

I feel like a rotating kebab every night because every time my husband rotates I unconsciously rotate at the same time

Bir insanın sağlığı yerindeyse, ailesi hayattaysa, geleceğe dair bir şeylerin hayalini kurabiliyorsa, dünyanın en zengin insanlarından biri olduğunu sık sık kendisine hatırlatması lazım.

Neverrrrrrrr Everrrrrrr underestimate how much of a blessing it is to have zero health problems and your mom still alive.
Not just diabetes but also insulin resistance. It won’t show up as easily in your basic bloodwork, and often goes unchecked as your hba1c may still be in the normal range. If you are gaining weight or have struggled with weight gain, cannot seem to control your sugar cravings

Today, I went to the Lahore High Court to cover the hearing of Junaid Hafeez’s appeal and after years of waiting, there was finally a substantive hearing of the case in Lahore.
The court admitted the appeal and issued notices to the prosecution, asking it to address two important questions at the next hearing: the legal distinction between a Facebook page and a Facebook group, and the forensic basis for the social media posts attributed to Hafeez. The next date has yet to be fixed.
But beyond the courtroom proceedings, what stayed with me was seeing Junaid’s father and brother there. His father was in tears after the hearing. For a family that has spent more than 13 years living with this case, the wait for justice has come at an enormous human cost. Junaid has remained imprisoned since his arrest in 2013 and has been on death row since his conviction in 2019. His appeal was filed in 2020.
There were also people from civil society present in court in solidarity, a reminder that this case is being watched not only as a legal proceeding, but also through the lens of due process, the right to a fair and timely hearing, and the safety of everyone involved in such cases.
Today’s hearing did bring some hope. But it also raised an uncomfortable question about the years that have already passed. The judges noted that notices to the parties had not been issued after the case was transferred to Lahore, and questioned why the appeal had not been properly pursued for an early hearing despite its age.
For Junaid’s family, however, this is not simply an old case on a court file. It is more than 13 years of a life interrupted and years of waiting for the judicial process to reach its conclusion.
The hope outside the courtroom today was simple: that the case will now move forward, the evidence will be examined, and justice will ultimately prevail.

Q: “How many children were killed in Gaza”
Ms Rachel: “20K is the number that’s reported, but in the new report from the UN, 5K could be under the rubble. There’s so many children who died because they had preventable things. One girl starved to death because she had a wheat allergy and they let her starve to death and blocked the food and the treatment she needed”

Since 2023, more than 200,000 Dashers in New York City were underpaid or paid late under the City’s delivery worker pay rules. These errors were unintentional, but that doesn’t make them acceptable. Dashers should be paid in full, on time, every time. We take full responsibility, and we’re deeply sorry.
We’ve reached a $131.5 million settlement with the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection. Every impacted Dasher will receive the amount they are owed, and they’ll be contacted directly with payment details.
We understand the impact of even one missed or late payment. We’ve addressed the issues that caused these errors and made changes to prevent them from happening again.
