Also see (military) aircraft. It took all my willpower to not buy a bunch of these at an antique store.
If you want to be a good visual designer you must first sit in the control center of a military submersible and accept the ephemeral medium in which you build. The modern interface is a facsimile of the world that came before.
UI has no fixed or permanent essence. All things are temporary and all code must inevitably become debt. And in that realization you’ll find true levity in the craft.
