An exciting milestone for our Healthcare team. We've launched our first-ever staff and visitor retail offering at Hull Royal Infirmary through Nourish Express, expanding our support beyond patient dining to the wider hospital community. Building on more than 25 years of experience supporting patient recovery, we’ve worked closely with Hull Royal Infirmary to trial new, flexible dining concepts including a personalised Build Your Own station and a ready-to-enjoy Hot2Go menu. Meet David Lawrence, our Development Chef, who has recently joined the apetito | Wiltshire Farm Foods team. With over 15 years of experience as a chef, David has worked in everything from Michelin-starred restaurants to luxury private yachts and gastro pubs, exposing him to a wide variety of cuisines, cooking techniques and cultures. But his passion for food started at home, watching his mum cook from an early age and developing a curiosity for ingredients, flavours and how dishes come together. That passion has since taken him around the world where he has worked in kitchens in the USA, Australia, New Zealand, London and even to the quarterfinals of MasterChef: The Professionals UK. In his role as Development Chef, he is helping us create new dishes, refine existing recipes and continue to raise quality standards, so our customers can enjoy tasty, nutritious and high-quality meals they can trust. Speaking about joining apetito | Wiltshire Farm Foods, David says: “I was looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to work in an area of the food industry that I hadn’t experienced before. The opportunity to innovate and create meals that have a real impact on customers was particularly appealing.” We’re delighted to have David as part of the team and look forward to seeing the creativity and experience he brings to our dishes. #MeetTheTeam #Culinary #ProductDevelopment #Nutrition #MakingARealDifference

We’re delighted to share that our Staff Foundation scheme has supported Stocksfield Cricket Club with a £250 donation to help enhance its facilities and create new activities that bring people together and inspire active living. Through the Staff Foundation, our colleagues can apply for grants to support organisations close to their hearts, helping to strengthen the communities where we live and work. Run almost entirely by volunteers, the club is much more than a place to play cricket. It’s a space where friendships grow, people stay active, and the community feels connected. Kirsty, the Club Secretary, shared her thanks: “Were incredibly grateful to Wiltshire Farm Foods for supporting our club and recognising the role it plays within the local community. Support like this helps us continue developing the club for the benefit of our community for years to come." This donation is one small way we continue to make a real difference in the communities our customers and colleagues call home. #Donation #HelpingTheCommunity #WiltshireFarmFoods #MakingARealDifference

Nine-year-old Teddy recently enjoyed a special family day out at Paultons Park after being selected as the winner of a prize draw linked to our latest research into children’s hospital mealtime experiences. Knowing that Teddy and his siblings are big theme park fans, apetito | Wiltshire Farm Foods partnered with Paultons Park to create a memorable day for the family, complete with rollercoasters, dinosaur adventures and plenty of fun, all captured on the children’s own disposable camera. Teddy was one of many young patients and families who took part in our research, sharing their experiences to help us better understand how hospital food services can meet the needs of children and create a more positive mealtime experience. The insights gathered have been brought together in our new report, helping to inform future improvements across healthcare catering and support better outcomes for young patients. Today, on Natasha’s Day, we’re remembering Natasha Ednan-Laperouse and recognising the lasting legacy of change created in her name. We are pleased to launch a brand-new research report exploring how pupils, parents and decision-makers across the education sector view school food and mealtimes today, and what this means for the future. The report reveals a clear opportunity to make school meals more appealing and engaging for children, with only 36% saying they currently look forward to what's on the menu. The research highlights the important role that taste, familiar flavours, food presentation and the wider dining experience play in shaping children's attitudes towards school meals. As the sector looks ahead to the introduction of new School Food Standards, the report explores why meeting nutritional requirements is only part of the solution. It provides valuable insights for schools and catering providers looking to create mealtime experiences that support both healthier eating habits and greater enjoyment of school food. Download the full report today to uncover the key insights that could help shape the future of school mealtimes: lnkd.in/eE3TheA4 #SchoolMeals #ChildNutrition #Education #SchoolFoodStandards #MealtimeExperience

Last week our Group Sustainability Director, Lee Sheppard, joined fellow industry experts at the Footprint Festival for a panel discussion on Power, Price and Opportunity: Decarbonising Hospitality and Food Production in an Age of Energy Risk. The discussion focused on the barriers slowing progress towards decarbonisation, including distorted energy pricing, policy gaps, commercial pressures and wider geopolitical uncertainty. The panel also examined what needs to change to accelerate electrification and support businesses on their journey to net zero. It was great to contribute to such an important conversation about the opportunities and challenges facing our industry and to share how collaboration, innovation and long-term investment will be critical to decarbonising food production at scale. #FootprintFestival #Sustainability #NetZero #Decarbonisation #FoodIndustry #Hospitality #EnergyTransition #ClimateAction

We're proud to launch our new collaborative research report with Sophie's Legacy, Shared Challenges, Shared Ambition: Shaping the Future of Paediatric Catering. Earlier this year, we set out to better understand children's hospital food and mealtime experiences. The findings reveal a clear need for change, with 89% of children wanting more choice at mealtimes and 74% of parents dissatisfied with their child's current hospital meal options. The research highlights strong agreement among children, families and healthcare professionals on what needs to improve and reinforces an important message: children only benefit from the nutritional value of a meal if they're willing to eat it. These insights have directly shaped apetito's first dedicated paediatrics range, designed around the needs and preferences of young patients to help improve their hospital experience. Thank you to everyone who contributed their experiences and perspectives. We hope this report helps drive important conversations about the future of paediatric catering across the healthcare sector. This WRAP Recycle Week, we're celebrating a major circular economy milestone: more than 55 million meal trays collected and recycled through Project Boomerang, our world-first closed-loop tray recycling scheme. Since launching in 2021, our Wiltshire Farm Foods teams and Healthcare customers have worked together to collect used meal trays and return them for recycling. The trays are sent to a specialist facility where they’re reprocessed into new food-grade trays before being sent back to our kitchens in Trowbridge to be used again. By keeping materials in circulation and turning old trays into new, Project Boomerang demonstrates how packaging can be recycled again and again through a genuinely closed-loop system, at scale. Reaching 55 million trays is a fantastic achievement and would not have been possible without the support of our customers and partners. At a time when achieving true packaging circularity remains a challenge across much of the industry, this milestone shows what can be achieved when customers, recyclers and manufacturers work together to close the loop. #WrapRecylceWeek #Sustainability #SustainableBusiness #ProjectBoomerang #MakingARealDifference
