Instead of “How was school today?” Ask an open ended question that requires more than a single worded answer and see what happens. Yesterday I asked my youngest, “Tell me something good about your day?”

I learned my son was really annoyed with a table-mate and instead of a downstairs brain choice he went to his teacher and asked to move. He then added that this table-mate was annoyed with him so it was good for both of them that he move. 🤣 #SELworks #LookForTheWins

Want proof that SEL and mindfulness work? My kiddo was dysregulated & I told him to come into my room and said, “Alexa, calm down.” Music that is soothing to my son’s soul starts to play. I left him for a few minutes and came back to this⬇️! #sel #mindfulness #TakesTimeButWorthIt
