Many people have said a lot about You Can See Everything. Only I mention Rush Hour 3 in relation to it. paradoxnewsletter.com/p/issu…
The preference for readers opening books written by their own gender is not biological: it’s ideological.
It’s also contemporary and confined to the past decade or so. This preference is mistaken. The pleasures a text may offer have nothing to do with the author’s identity.
Thought experiments are important to consider as tools to help us orient ourselves in relation to our world and our principles. This is not a bad thought experiment. But its relationship to reality is very warped, as any thought experiment is. Gen AI should not synthesize drugs.
Someone get Brian Steel on this
Wisconsin woman pretends to be a school teacher just so she could call the kids fat and separate them by race.
23-year-old Amy Jones was reportedly "bored," so she walked into Rufus King High School and told staff she was a substitute.
The school believed her and assigned her to a class.
Jones then walked into the classroom and separated the kids by race.
She then singled out multiple students, calling one a future hooker, another fat, and said some of the students looked like they were the type of people who had incest.
Jones faces 20 years in prison. She says she did the stunt because she was bored and "hates kids and just wanted to mess around."
Diabolical.
KAT was asked if he felt like the Knicks should reward him with an extension after last season.
His response: “No sh*t Sherlock. I just won a championship. You’d think it was pretty easy. Unless you guys think I have something else to prove.”

Started reading this last night with some interested in The Human Condition’s Manchuria setting. A comparison’s to Breaking Bad’s premise is warranted, though the relative quality is far from these two intertexts.

Just asked Victor Wembanyama if he’d ever consider promoting a sports betting company.
“Absolutely not. I will never do that. Honestly, I think it's very sad to see some players promote it. …Everybody does whatever they want, but without me.”
It would be so awesome if this contract had a bunch of side deals, no show endorsement, and other varieties of cap circumvention. Or maybe they could invent a new method for this.
Just in: Toronto Raptors All-NBA star Kawhi Leonard has agreed on a two-year, $115 million contract extension with the franchise, plus a player option for the 2028-29 season, his agent Harrison Gaines of SLASH Sports tells ESPN.
I would like to pose this question in another way. Is anyone keeping track of any predictions about AI that have been even remotely correct? And how correct have they been?
This is just ridiculous. Nobody should be getting harassed in their DMs like this, but all these excuses for using AI generated menus are laughable. Drawing on a piece of notebook paper would be better. These images are so repulsive and stupid. Public backlash should be expected.
I talked to a coffee shop owner in Buffalo who was getting destroyed on Instagram after showing a photo of a fall menu poster she made with ChatGPT. One person with a big local following was DMing her and threatening to post about it she woudln't agree to hire an artist to redo it. But it turned out it was more complicated that her skipping out on hiring someone: she told me she's never hired anyone to make their chalkboard menu signs - either she did posters herself with photos and Canva or a staffer did in chalk. The AI menu was just her trying to reduce her own workload (she has a newborn and wanted to save time) businessinsider.com/coffee-s…
