This will be my new pinned tweet, documenting my case for a South-Western Scottish identity and reasserting our unique local heritage that has been forgotten. The South-West contains everything that makes Scotland great.

In Scotland it kicks in at £43,633. Earning 58% more than the minimum wage makes you a "high earner" in Scotland. But apparently we live in a neoliberal free market dystopia where the private sector stomps over workers unimpeded.
Britain’s new minimum wage: £27,456 a year. Higher-rate income tax kicks in at £50,270. Wage compression the Soviet Union could only have dreamed of.

Éamon de Valera supported Ze'ev Jabotinsky and opposed the partition of Palestine because it resembled the partition of Ireland.

Jabotinsky was an Anglophile and initially opposed Irish independence, but the younger generation of revisionists viewed Irish nationalism as a model for their own plan of a racial & linguistic renaissance.

The author of this paper cites a 1943 article of HaMashkif, the paper of the revisionist Hatzohar party, as an instance where the Lehi likened themselves to the rebels of Easter 1916.

Night Dictates the Terms. We Find the Answers Fighting, and even just moving, at night can be disorienting, but night can also be an ally. Fighters of the Separate Special Forces Detachment Tuman, First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine, know how to use the advantages of night, thanks to their combat experience and comprehensive training. Darkness that kills awaits the enemy.

At the peak of the Empire, Britain was poorer than modern Thailand. Much of Western Europe was even poorer. In the next 25 years, under American capitalism, they became collectively the wealthiest societies to have ever existed. This is something South Asian anti-colonial larpers, who constantly seethe about the made up $40 trillion won't admit, the Empire was a burden on Britain. At the imperial peak, the average Brit had a life three standard deviations below that of my great grandfather's horses.
Hey @grok, can you identify this mysterious device from 1962 ? 👀

I am a reddit soyjak and my favourite part about being an adult is that I can wake up and eat whatever I want for breakfast while playing the new CoD. I will not apologise.

There's a remarkable detachment from reality among welfare extremists to think that people who do not claim welfare do not have any financial concerns in their lives. Most of the non-welfare claiming working population of the UK are in a precarious situation!
“Morbidly obese man wearing a smock stammers his way through a poem about not getting enough PIP” seems like it could only be pastiche but I do think this is in earnest.

Jade Eckhaus, a foreign communist, has a ton of tweets celebrating the various "protests" by Glasgow Uni Justice for Palestine, including the masked mobs who forcefully occupied buildings and shouted at secondary school students. But when "fascists" kick a door, it's violence.
I was there last night when 20 masked fascists tried to attack a socialist meeting in Glasgow. These aren’t concerned citizens. They’re thugs trying to silence political opposition through violence and intimidation. Unity on the left is essential to defeat the far right.

If they're masked and haven't been identified, how can you know they were fascists anyway? They might just be disgruntled victims of the sexual abuse culture that the SWP tolerated for so long.

Documenting public statements by politicians is now indicative that an organisation is a spyware firm, apparently.
Palantir: "We are definitely, most certainly, NOT a spyware firm or sinister in any way" Also Palantir: "hey mr MP couldn't help but notice you've mentioned Palantir 130 times in the last 5 years on social media and in your public appearances" yes. not spyware-y or sinister at all.

It is remarkable how prevalent the "Gaelic migration from Ireland to Scotland" and the "Gaelic genocide of the Picts" theories are despite there being zero evidence for either of them. No transmission of Irish material culture to the Hebrides, no mass graves of Picts.

Practically all of the evidence we have available to us suggests that there was an existing continuous Gaelic cultural sphere that became Dál Riata, and that the Picts assimilated into this Gaelic culture when it became the prestige language, influencing it themselves.

The Hebrides were inhabited by Gaels for centuries before the Norse arrived. They were foreign invaders who were expelled and the Treaty of Perth recognised this. In any case, there is nothing stopping islanders from advocating for independence. It's legal.
The Hebrides were forcibly incorporated into the Scottish empire in 1266 under the Treaty of Perth. They had no say, no right to object. It this is a voluntary union, where is their right to leave Scotland?

So basically, you can accept any rent a landlord asks for and then retrospectively claim you were desperate, and a tribunal will change your rent because some properties that aren't the same size or even in the same building are being advertised at a lower price.
The long march towards Total Judicial Communism continues. We have devolved price setting to a couple of former solicitors scrolling Zoopla. Madness. telegraph.co.uk/money/proper…

>No one in Europe would consider themselves Irish just because their great-great-great-grandparent emigrated from Ireland. Wait until you discover the west of Scotland.
Non-Americans find this weird because we don't put as much weight on our ancestry. No one in Europe would consider themselves Irish just because their great-great-great-grandparent emigrated from Ireland. After that many generations, what connection do you even have to Ireland?
