is it any surprise that 8 billion people dependent on agriculture, industry, mining, motorized transportation, instantaneous communication, and a capitalist system that knows the cost of everything and the value of nothing is destroying the natural world at an accelerating pace?

SIBERIA METHANE EMISSIONS DOUBLED IN THE PAST DECADE Emissions in 2020 and 2021, correspond to unprecedented atmospheric growth rates, of more than double those in 2010. Methane emissions in Siberia have increased 5% per year since 2010 due to fires and permafrost melting. science.org/doi/10.1126/scie… #climatechange #methane #globalwarming

As of September 10th, the Nino 3.4 anomaly is now 2.94°C (preliminary) above the 1991-2020 baseline, setting the 104th consecutive daily record, a full 1.09°C above the previous record for the day, set in 1997. The Climate 8-ball is gobsmacked.

Wow. 9 out of 10 of the world's best climate models now predict that this year's El Niño will peak at or above 4°C. It's hard to say for sure, but this might not happen again for hundreds of years.

This is now getting absurdly serious with the El Niño. The latest OSTIA SST data now has a peak anomaly of 8.1C above normal, with Peru reporting a peak SSTA of 9.5C. What's more concerning is that these anomalies are only going to increase over the next 10+ days, as the latest ECMWF forecast is predicting a peak of 12.5C right off the coast of Peru. As I said earlier, this is setting up to be the most impactful El Niño since record-keeping began in 1950. Also can't wait for the new C3S model ensemble to come out by around September 10th, as I'm sure the wet signal across the west & south will be bonkers.

If this data was about the cash flow of a major economy, it would be covered by media everywhere. But as it 'only' shows global heat flow, it won't be covered anywhere..
🚨The most important graph in the world has another 6 months of data!🚨 NASA CERES satellites measure how much sunlight Earth absorbs and how much heat is radiated back to space. The difference is heat accumulation, which has more than tripled over the past 26 years!

Breaking News! Code: Yikes! The latest Nino 3.4 plume was just released by ECMWF, showing the peak of the current El Nino coming in at about 4.0°C above the 1991-2020 average in December. The previous record monthly peak was 2.8°C in November, 2015.

The Niño 1+2 Index near Peru and Ecuador has reached a remarkable, record-breaking 4.8°C above average, surpassing the record from 1983. Ocean temperatures are forecast to surge toward 6°C above average during October. There is no modern precedent for these conditions.

The latest data is once again showing the preliminary global sea-surface temperature at a record high. "Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow, creeps in this petty pace from day to day, to the last syllable of recorded time; and all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death."

Breaking News! Code: Boiling! The Earth Energy Imbalance data for June, 2026 was just released, and over the last 12 months the planet has warmed at an average rate of about 14.45 Hiroshimas per Second. This is equivalent to making about 10.8 billion cups of tea per second.

Dear @WMO , The planet has already passed the Paris limit of 1.5°C (2.7°F) above the 1850-1900 pre-industrial baseline, and is well on its way to 2.0°C (3.6°F) by 2037. You’re welcome.

"1.5 is deader than a doornail and everyone who understands the physics knows that" @DrJamesEHansen (2023) @Nature, today about new @UNEP report: 'UN finally admits global warming will shoot past 1.5 ºC climate limit'
Today we presented the 'Warming in the pipeline' paper, lead by @DrJamesEHansen. The recording of the press conference is available here. At 34:30 min, I explain the effects of sulphur emission changes, notably from shipping, of accelerating warming: youtu.be/NXDWpBlPCY8?si=5dV1…

And another beautiful @UN @UNEP Climate report completely failing to cover aerosols... Speaking of broken records. 'Limiting overshoot Navigating exceedance of 1.5°C and pathways towards return' Reducing air pollution increases warming, especially regionally!
Another beautiful UN Climate report completely failing to cover aerosols. Humanity will have to learn the importance of aerosols the hard way. unep.org/resources/emissions…

The Israelization of our societies is a fact. Israel is a model of containment/repression dressed as democracy. Pro-Israel groups sell that image abroad; domestic authoritarian drift driven by private interests does the rest. The regression on dissent in the West is one receipt.
