My first attempt at publishing a journal article is now out. It is a tiny piece from my PhD - not as original- as I wanted it to be. But I am glad I started here. I had a good editor and neither of the reviewers were the dreaded ones.

People can have differences and nuanced takes on CJP but it is inexcusable to remain silent on the custody of Ashutosh and Saurav. This is an egregious violation of a citizen's liberty. Please speak up. If not on principle, than in self-interest, for this is setting a precedent.
Mental health win when you accept rejections and acceptances with the same stoic state of mind. It is like okay- that didn’t work out or okay that worked out. Finding joy in things like bagel and cheese 😁
I also find this whole obsession with one person- esp a woman- a repeat of what happened with Shehla. The repeated interviews/ profiling/ commentaries etc eventually fell flat and now they stand awkward against the present.
This "once in a lifetime talent" thing is hyperbole, man. There are 100s of Nehas in progressive, ambedkarite & minority student organisations in India.
Over the past 16 years, i've known dozens of Nehas who stood at the barricades, largely unsung, from JNU, DU, Jamia and AUD alone. By the time they reach leadership posts, they're all exceptionally skilled, strong, seasoned & smart!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government should stop the ill-treatment and arbitrary detention of protesters, allow people to protest peacefully, and restore mobile internet services and freedom of movement.
That person who is posting really shallow and absolutely harmful threads on Jean Dreze has zero political investment in any of what is unfolding here. Best to ignore and not explain.
Yes. And everyone remembers the harm they unleashed on young students- constantly villainising them- for over a decade. 2016 was perhaps the start of it all. No one could trust reporters/anchors when they distorted anything that a student said or did.
I agree that journalists have the right to report, and the public have the right to protest.
The anger is stemming from the fact that several journalists or rather their organisations, do not support the right to protest, and instead have systematically villainised the protestors.
Yes, we can condemn the heckling. We can ask the protesters to stop behaving like this.
At the same time, I hope these reporters (and many of them seniors) are coming back to their Newsrooms and strongly asking why they should bear the brunt for all editorial decisions and why things are not changing

At his press conference, Rahul Gandhi asked a young man who was injured in a police lathi charge how he would respond to the lathi.
The boy replied, “With a lathi. But mine is a lathi of love.”
He then took out his flute and started playing Vaishnav Jan To. ❤️

Waving the Tricolour at Jantar Mantar in a peaceful protest is not a crime. Jailing youth for it is an act of cowardice.
Students. Youth. Journalists. The INDIA bloc. Different banners, one cause. All protests are one: citizens demanding their constitutional rights.
Jantar Mantar belongs to the people of India. We will reclaim it.

Aishe Ghosh, All India Joint Secretary of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), is a fearless and dynamic student leader.
Yesterday, her press conference on the CJP platform was powerful and clear. Like Neha Bora, she represents the new generation of fierce leaders who will drive the movement against the current government.
@aishe_ghosh @SfiDelhi
Dear Aishe, India is looking to you for leadership. 🩵
Tees Mar Khans lol.
Dear BJP,
Replace Dipke, Das and Ranka with Bhagwat “Ji”, Santhosh “Ji” and Dattatreya “Ji”.
Replace “Gen Z” with “India” and “Yuva of the Country” with “people of the Country”, in the statement.
Now answer this:
Who elected these RSS Soormas as the custodians of India and its people ?
Have these self-appointed guardians of the nation ever won even a housing society election?
Yet they lecture elected representatives, dictate political agendas and behave as though 140 crore Indians have given them a mandate.
Before the BJP questions anyone else, let the RSS’s Tees Maar Khans demonstrate some courage by standing for elections.
Karnataka’s Gram Panchayat elections are coming up, maybe some of the “Ji’s” can contest.

In 2016, BJP govt amended FCRA to allow corporate donations from entities with foreign shareholding (within limits). In 2018, BJP govt again amended FCRA to retrospectively allow foreign donations to political parties dating back to 1976, effectively shielding them from scrutiny

Fun-facts for people speculating about a "foreign hand" and "foreign funding" for the cockroach protests: in 2016, BJP govt amended Foreign Contribution Regulation Act to explicitly allow foreign donations to political parties. BJP is the largest recipient of political donations

I would like mention that ONLY the CPIM & Left front MPs from Kerela who stood by the unarmed students & young protesters in the last two days , fought with violent Dalli police force & got themselves beaten up & detained. Hope , the nation remembers it !

@RahulGandhi @priyankagandhi @kharge My daughter and her friend who went to join anti-SIR protests in Bangalore have just been detained. Why is this happening in a Congress-ruled state even when the young step out in support of your cause? Please respond.

'हमने हिरासत में लिए गए कई लोगों की मदद की और उन्हें घर तक पहुंचाया'
दिल्ली में चल रहे विरोध प्रदर्शनों के दौरान पुलिस ने कई लोगों को हिरासत में लिया और दूर दराज़ के इलाके में छोड़ा.
ये लोग अपने घर तक वापस कैसे लौटें, इनकी मदद एक लड़का तकनीक के ज़रिए कर रहा है.

I was sitting just a few metres away from the Supreme Court when the BJP brought these women for its women protest today.
Back-to-back 40-50 premium AC buses full of women arrived within 30 minutes there.
Their protest call was also named #DelhiChalo.
Most of the women sitting in those buses appeared to come from very poor backgrounds.
It’s crazy to me that a party claiming to be the biggest in the country has to pay people to attend its protests.
And even those protesters are cooking Modi. 😭😭
