we're almost at the point where we are going to release metareviews in @ReviewAcl for the May cycle but we have a few papers left we need them for. I have three that seem to have a non-responsive AC --- is there anyone who might be willing to take them on on short notice?

Wonderful analysis of ARR. Statistics help us better understand where we are and ground the discussion in data.

We will present our work ‘telling speculative stories to help humans imagine the harms of healthcare AI’ in Poster Session D (Coronado, 09:00-10:30) today. Come and chat about the human-centered AI. #ACL
This is so weird. I dont even get why this update was made. Won't everyone just put EMNLP? Is the hope that people with low quality papers select AACL? Is AACL okay with that?
📢 Please note a critical update to the original #EMNLP2026 Call for Papers: since EMNLP and AACL share the ARR May cycle, authors will need to explicitly select a target conference at submission time. This choice will be binding!
For more details see: 2026.emnlp.org/calls/main_co…
Hmm.... EMNLP and AACL have the exact same deadline.
I was hoping the deadline would be later. Now there is no chance to resubmit any papers that don't make the cut for EMNLP. If we get unlucky with noisy reviews in May, will papers need to sit until 2027?
🚨AACL-IJCNLP 2026 will be held in Hengqin, China from November 6-10, 2026. The CFP is now out!
ARR submission deadline (long & short papers): May 25, 2026!

🎉 Paper accepted to ACL 2026 Findings 🎉
“Telling Speculative Stories to Help Humans Imagine the Harms of Healthcare AI”
#ACL2026NLP
Led by an excellent group of students:
Xingmeng Zhao, Tongnian Wang, Dan Schumacher, Veronica Rammouz
Our first major human study as a group.
Some notes: This was a very non-traditional NLP paper, and a huge amount of effort went into it, particularly by @ZephyrStarr. Because it wasn't exactly in the same mold as traditional NLP papers, reviewers commented on many minor things without seeing the entire picture.
Very excited about this work and the great effort by my student @Klisura_djordje !
Excited to share our new paper appearing in Findings of #EACL2026
When you ask an LLM a question in an organization, should it always answer? No, role-based access control matters. But LLMs today often blur role boundaries & leak sensitive data

📢 2 papers accepted to #EMNLP2025! 1) Collab with Dr. Paul Rad (thanks for including me) and his current/former students (Fatemeh Haji & Dr. Mazal Bethany) & Dr. Chiang (@PeratonCorp). 2) Led by my talented student James Ford on chart generation & accessibility. #UTSA

"Everyone should have some data science training, and if we can help provide that in the correct settings, that can be highly valuable," says @anthonymrios, founding director of @UTSA @utsacaicc forthcoming Center for Data Science.
