Asked Cade Cunningham how helpful the Pistons’ depth is as the primary scorer:
“It’s great to have high-level players around. It makes your team more effective for a long season. It’s going to be a long season where everybody is going to get an opportunity to play.”

Top 10 Dad day. I let my son skip school so I could convert him (Wemby/Spurs fan) into a Detroit Pistons fan during their season opener.
Mission successful. I took him upstairs at LCA and showed him all of Detroit’s past championships (Red Wings/Pistons). Showed him Gordie Howe’s statue. Watched his pudgy face light up in awe from the flames during the Pistons intro. By the 2nd QTR my quiet and reserved six-year-old was chanting “refs you suck!” and he exploded during the Pistons’ 23-0 run. With 6 seconds left I asked if he wanted to beat traffic, but he wanted to stay instead. He left the building a Pistons fan. I fucking love sports. Today was everything I dreamed it would be.

Asked JB about the team’s depth at practice today: “We’ve gotta make some tough decisions, but it’s an 82-game season and we’ve proven we’re gonna give guys opportunities throughout the 82.”
