Crypto adoption seems fast now. But it will never be this slow again.

ppl don't want to do things without immediate reward therefore there is opportunity in doing something that takes a long time showing up each day and feeling like you are wasting your time is what leads to outperformance

How dumb ai is still at coding and how many math problems is solving is an indication of how useless the glut of phds was over the last two decades.

a whole country index went 4x in 1 year intel, a boomer stock that my dad bought and held since 1993 went 4x in the span of 2 months gold, a 30t monolith went nearly 4x since the 2022 lows and your assumption is that btc and eth, some of the most reflexive and volatile underlyings since the inception of modern finance, cannot go 4x from here?

The simple function of click and drag on mac is impossible when you are using the trackpad. Apple usually cares so much about UX but this is a horrible one.

My teenage son went to the movies with his mates tonight. I told him he could go if he caught the bus home. He called me half an hour ago and said there was a 40 minute wait for the bus when the movie finished so asked if I could come and pick him up (40 min round trip) I reminded him of the deal and said he had to catch the bus but I’d meet his bus at the stop near home so he wasn’t walking home in the dark. I’ve just spent the last 30 mins worried he’s going to get robbed and/or bashed at the shopping centre while waiting for the bus because Melbourne is a cess pit of violent youth crime. I don’t want to be a helicopter parent and spoil my kids but when it’s not safe out there it’s a constant balancing act. This has all happened on @VictorianLabor’s watch. Yet another reason they have got to go this November.

The longer I run businesses, the more I realize most emergencies are just simple conversations that got delayed.

I lost 6.42 BTC overnight. A little over $400,000 at today’s price. I noticed it early this morning when I opened Wasabi and the balance immediately looked wrong. Then I saw the outgoing transactions. None of them were mine. What makes this so hard to understand is that this wasn’t Bitcoin sitting on an exchange or in some hot wallet. My keys were on a Coldcard that had never been connected to the internet and was physically locked away in a safety deposit box. That was literally the whole reason I used that setup. No seed in the cloud. No photo on my phone. No password manager backup. No browser wallet. The BTC had been sitting there untouched for a long time. Then overnight, several transactions went out within minutes and the wallet was basically emptied. I spent the next few hours checking addresses, old devices and everything else I could think of, trying to find some obvious mistake on my end. So far, nothing. That’s the part that bothers me more than the number itself. If I’d signed something stupid or fallen for phishing, at least I’d know exactly where I screwed up. Instead I’m looking at a cold-storage wallet I deliberately made difficult to access, and somehow the coins still moved. I’m documenting the transactions now and tracing where the BTC went. Do I expect to get $400k back? Probably not. It’s a disgusting amount of money to lose overnight, but I’m not going to spend the next six months staring at a blockchain explorer feeling sorry for myself. I made the money once. I’ll make it again.

Common Crypto Twitter knowledge you know: -If someone is shilling a coin, assume they have a position -CT is last in the information pipeline; all the alpha is in the group chats. you're not early if you see a post -people on here are generally much richer or poorer than they appear -those who are loud and flashy usually have something to sell you (paid group, newsletter, etc) -position sizes are generally much smaller than you assume; don't believe the PNL cards -deals float around everywhere, it's not just KOLs. VCs, hedge funds, prominent voices on here also take plenty of insider deals / have information -always think about the incentives and the reasons why people are doing what they are doing. if someone is shilling something very hard or doing high effort research (articles), assume there's an incentive for that person. nobody comes on this site for charitable purposes (sisyphus) -CT can still be a great source of alpha / learning though and you can still learn a ton from just reading all day long. just make sure you are following and digesting the right people/information
