Message.config was the easiest thing to accidentally lose.
Devnet V1 txs now go through Jetstreamer’s wincode decode path, including txs >1232 bytes.

Shipstern 0.9.0 is out.
Live filter updates on the Yellowstone gRPC source. Take a RuntimeHandle, patch the filter set with update_filters, the subscription is replaced mid-stream. No reconnect.
Also: Transaction V1 (SIMD-0385) support with the inline compute budget on InstructionShared, Prefilter now covers the full Yellowstone subscription surface (memcmp, datasize, lamports, data slices, accounts_exclude, vote, interslot_updates), DISCRIMINATOR constants on generated types, and CPI event envelopes read straight from the IDL.
Breaking if you match exhaustively on PrefilterError or build prefilters with struct literals. Builder users unaffected.

Built a coding agent from scratch and ran the exact same task twice
Only changed one thing: prompt caching
Without caching:
67,437 input tokens → $0.1857
With caching:
67,437 input tokens
57,448 cached (85%) → $0.0872
Same agent. Same 11 LLM calls. Same task
Caching cut the cost by ~53%
Agent loops repeatedly send the conversation back to the model. Efficiently caching that context is a huge part of building cost efficient agents

Last night an infrastructure provider used by some Solana validators had a failure. You probably didn't notice, because the network didn't: blocks kept producing and transactions kept landing.
The facts:
- The Solana network remained operational
- 597 of 699 staked validators kept voting, roughly 6 out of 7
- Affected validators recovered within 40 minutes
- Validators in the Solana Foundation Delegation Program (SFDP) were unaffected
Because Solana validators are distributed across independent infrastructure providers, the failure of a single provider did not interrupt the network. This is decentralization and infrastructure diversity working as intended, and a proof point for Solana’s resiliency though periods of stress.

@Sam0xSol just shipped jetstreamer 0.7.0 work-stealing, a proper TUI, and it finally shrugs off R2’s throttling.
The fun part: yellowstone-vixen wires jetstreamer in as a replay source. Point it at any old mainnet epoch and it streams straight from Old Faithful’s archives. No validator, no RPC quota, no gRPC x-token nothing to spin up.
Best bit is you write your parser once and it doesn’t care if the data’s live or from six months ago. Same Pipeline/Handler API either way.

Size prefix was only a modifier, so you couldn’t nest it. it’s a type node now, like fixed size already is:
option(size_prefix(string, number(u8)))
the prefix can go positional or named. size prefix isn’t a special case anymore.
tldr: one piece of code can now be reused in more

Found this reviewing my own PR to rpcpool’s yellowstone-vixen:
On SIGTERM the indexer bailed instantly instead of waiting for in-flight handlers. The tokio runtime dropped them mid-await right in the middle of a DB write.
before → exit 0.03s 6983 started 6982 finished ✗ 1 truncated
after → exit 0.54s 11843 started 11843 finished ✓ zero lost
8-line fix. And yeah I checked the regression test actually fails without it.
