Applies to lots of things!
Chris Rock just nailed one of the biggest problems with wokeness. Helping people who feel marginalized is good. He says so himself. The trouble starts when a good cause becomes an institution. The first few witches were real. Then you open a witch office. Now there are salaries, budgets and pensions to justify, and the office needs a steady supply of witches to keep existing. That’s the trap. Once a cause becomes a career, solving the problem means losing your job. So the problem never gets solved. It just keeps getting redefined. A system built to find wrongdoing will keep finding it, whether it’s there or not.

The glorious spectacle of Timothy Miller wearing a burka spectator.com/article/the-gl… Brendan O'Neill, Spectator 16th Oct Crack open the warm bitter. Dust down the bunting. Put Elgar’s ‘Nimrod’ on repeat. For at last we have something to make every true English heart swell with pride. It’s the stirring sight of that 76-year-old geezer who was arrested for wearing a burka attending court yesterday in… a burka. Oh, this blessed plot! His name is Timothy Miller. He’s from Southampton. On 12 September he was arrested at an anti-immigration protest for parading about in an entombing niqab. The cops accused him of using the Islamic veil to conceal his identity. Not so, he replied: I really am an ageing student of Allah. He repeated this defence at Portsmouth magistrates’ court yesterday. He lifted his veil – I’m cracking up – to confirm his name, address and date of birth. He then said he is ‘studying’ Islam and he wears the burqa to gain a ‘greater understanding’ of the faith. His draping veil was flawlessly accessorised with a fetching black handbag. . . The sourpusses of the Islamo-left will wail ‘Islamophobia!’. They’ll accuse him of ridiculing Islamic dress. But the burqa is ridiculous. We didn’t need a pensioner from Southampton to tell us that. It is cruel, brutish, backward, sexist and profoundly anti-social to make women drape themselves in public like this. If you’re alarmed when a white male pensioner pulls on a sackcloth but cool when a brown-skinned woman is forced to do so, you might want to have a word with yourself. It’s possible this case will force some serious head-scratching in public life. Like, why is it potentially a crime for a British pensioner to cover his face but fine for a Muslim woman? Is it because she believes Muhammad flew to heaven on a winged horse and that women must wholly surrender the self to divine decree? If I embrace such truthless dogmas, can I also wear a mask on the street? . . .

Disappointing to see Reform come out in favour of youth unemployment and pub closures. prosperity.com/media-publica…
In the last month, the Tories have admitted they’d both freeze the minimum wage for five years and raise taxes by stealth on the lowest-paid. That's not just out of touch; it's immoral. My letter to Kensington Kemi 👇

Nothing captures the spirit of modern England quite like winning a local Leeds council seat only to dedicate it to Gaza and roar Allahu Akbar under a Palestinian flag and then getting lined up to challenge Zack Polanski for Green Party leader. Truly inspiring leadership. What a gift to the nation.

Rahmeh Aladwan is a doctor in Britain. She wants people who blaspheme against Islam to be killed. People with beliefs like this do not belong in our country. I’ve written to the General Medical Council calling for her to be struck off.

Antizionism is antisemitism. If you’re seeking to destroy the Jewish state after every inflection point throughout the Jewish story, then you’re an antisemite whether you acknowledge it or not. The Greens are now an antisemitic party.
Replying to @LordIanAustin
Antizionism is not antisemitism.

If this is true. We are seeing a massive USAF vote of no-confidence in the UK Labour government. If the "Special Relationship" between the US & UK depends on which political parties are in power simultaniously. We are post "Special Relationship."
It appears a mass withdrawal of B-1B Lancer bombers from RAF Fairford is underway, likely reflecting the ongoing security threat surrounding the airbase. The movement also appears to include aircraft from the most recent B-1B rotation, rather than being limited to the bombers already stationed at Fairford. Footage from @CraigYoungMedia.

I posted a story yesterday about a charity called Migrant Help that's being funded by our taxes. It now transpires this charity has 600 employees. Who we're paying for. We certainly didn't agree to this. It's blatant abuse of our money.

I’m struggling with the concept of someone who goes big on the moral importance of recognising the death & devastation in Gaza, & then 2 weeks later sits down with the Foreign Minister of a regime which this year murdered tens of thousands of people over the course of 72 hours.
Meeting and discussion between Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and David Milliband, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Syed is a liberal. A centre left democrat. Many of us are (or were). Here he nails it in the way the best orators always do. Simply. Britain has got zero chance of recovery with open borders and insane green-energy thinking. The two poster children of the new lefties. Reflect.
Matthew Syed’s despair at Burnham’s Britain. “What kind of a Government is that? he asks. Good question. The answer? An utterly useless collection of socialist duds - following on from their equally useless Tory predecessors. This is the Worst Government in History.

While I can totally understand the "it's not America's problem" people, I will never understand the pro-Palestine people. - Gaza's government (Hamas) started this war with a mass slaughter of over a thousand mostly civilians. - Hamas's government's charter calls for the extermination of Israel. Genocide is actually their official policy, but Israel gets accused of it? - Hamas refuses to cede power, and Israel obviously can't tolerate the risk of more October 7ths. No country would. - Would be nice to get the innocent civilians out of there. But other Arab countries won't take them! They only care about their "Muslim brothers" to the extent they can use their lives to bash Israel. And that is confirmed by the fact that there is no similar outrage when Muslim nations commit atrocities against each other. It's just a way to bash the Jews I think, similar to BLM only caring about one very rare kind of violence against black people. Obviously no one wants to see innocent children bombed, it's awful. But that's true of every war, yet only Israel gets condemnation and conspiracism for refusing to stop short of victory in a war it didn't start. A "free Palestine" = Israeli extermination. Until that changes and they want real coexistence with Israel, there can't be peace for those in Gaza. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills watching Hamas win the PR war. Anyway, I felt like kicking the hornet's nest I guess.

The Church of England has never even given this poor women the dignity of her name. He only bought her so the Archbishop can hang the medal on her (the Archbishop was not allowed to touch him). No one that accepts this can call herself a campaigner for women's rights.

The genocide in Sudan has 3 times the death toll of Gaza and it's not only radio silence from the "anti-genocide" crowd... it's, "don't talk about the deaths of black children because it distracts from Gaza" from the far-left. Disgusting. Fake. Fraudulent. Larpers. All of them.
Gillian Anderson dared to speak up for Sudan and just see what her comments section looks like. It’s an unspoken rule that any time someone mentions suffering that isn't in Gaza, the response is to attack them for not talking about Gaza. Sudan has the largest displacement crisis in the world and millions of children going hungry, over 150,000 killed or starved to death, and the reaction to a video about them is "is she a zio?" Do you understand how demented these people are?
