Day 2.1/
We have made Auto-review free for all users signed in through a ChatGPT account. You can enable it in settings > permissions > auto-review. Auto-review improves upon the default sandbox setting that requires you to approve everything, which is prone to decision fatigue unless you spend a lot of time configuring specific rules.
It allows you to run long tasks while having a second agent review all actions taken by the primary agent. Its only goal is to prevent high-risk actions from being taken and to protect against unwanted actions that are not aligned with the original user intent. This Auto-review feature is now free and does not draw usage from your plan.
Day 1/
We have optimized the default speed to be ~50% faster across GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol through the subscription across all our products and partners using Sign in With ChatGPT (including OpenCode, Pi, Amp, Devin, ...).
No changes needed on your end and this should be felt within the next two hours.

good way to handle an unfortunate demo
respect to OpenAI for even still doing real, live demos as a company of their size and stature
we found opus 5.5 to be 2X as efficient as gpt-6-sol in our internal cfo.ai evals so i was not expecting 6.1-sol to improve on that much
but to see it 3X the efficiency of opus 5.5 and 2.5X against even sonnet 5.5 is actually 🤯
this is an insane point release

My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.

I got community noted, but the note is wrong 😅
Your primary dot is included in your plan and will be available 24/7. If you ask it to create a codex task for you, that one will be drawing usage as usual. But when your dot does work directly, that uses nothing and is all on top of your plans usage. In the future you will be able to increase the speed and allow your dot to have more bandwidth, this will be a paid feature, but the baseline functionality will always just be included in your plan.
Announcing dots. Dots work 24/7 for you, learn from your feedback, have their own computer, browser and can be connected to over 4k apps in our ecosystem.
They’re powered by Astra our best model yet. Included in your Pro plan, without drawing down on any of your usage. You can even call a dot while it’s working.
We’re getting you started with your primary dot today and soon you’ll be able to create entire teams of them.

I’ve been testing Dots for a bit.
In short, it has a potential to be the best agent product in the world.
Why? The quality of the AI is best-in-class.
But the UX needs a lot of work before I can make it my daily driver.
If OpenAI nails that, they’ve got a huge winner.

Hi,
Tomorrow we are re-opening the Pro $200 subscriptions to new subscribers, but together with it we are also changing how we calculate the usage for it. In effect, if you do the math, it will net out at half the dollar in API spend compared to the old Pro $200 plan.
Now that it's said, let me explain why this is happening and why you will still get more work done than if you were on the Pro $200 subscription one month ago.
(a) We didn't want to compromise in other ways and are committing to not reintroducing the 5h limit, so that you can fully use the weekly usage when you want.
(b) On the subscription, we guarantee that over time you always get more work done and with an increasing level of quality. This means that you will continue to get more value per dollar spent as a result of models getting more efficient and us passing down the improvements in the form of API price reductions.
(c) We don't want to put an incentive on ourselves to artificially inflate the API list prices to make it look like you are getting a lot (and workaround it through discounts, etc). Instead we want to continue to both rapidly reduce prices and increase capabilities of models on the API. This week we introduced GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna at 50% of their previous price. Over time, we see prices go low enough that it makes sense for most to buy usage as needed without there being a significant gap between what you get in a subscription and what you get in the API for a dollar spent.
(d) Tomorrow, we are adding more things to the subscription that won't draw on the usage, I won't reveal what that is yet.
I wanted to be transparent before all the big announcements tomorrow. Lots of new exciting things are coming to the subscriptions that will make it super compelling, but I wanted to make sure to share this change ahead of time so you can all understand it before we shower you with good news.
Codexingly,
Tibo
making yesterday's work obsolete is the whole point of building
Well said @dhh. I've 'retired' many times... from setting IRQ jumpers, defragging drives, and tuning config.sys for a few more kb of ram. making yesterday's work obsolete is the whole point of building. grateful to have watched it happen.

Indian immigrants—by far—pay more taxes and receive less government benefits than any other major national origin group in the United States.
This is because they have the highest median household income.
They also have one of the lowest incarceration rate of any group.

Today we're launching the Agents API, a brand new way to build Agents in the cloud, backed by the Codex harness. Bring along all your favorite tools and connectors, connect it to any sandbox, and let Astra cook.

fwiw I think it is _extremely_ unlikely that user data had any influence here - there is no way OAI would pull user transcripts for this, or knowingly train on it in a way that would've influenced this.
I think its pretty important people don't run away with 'your user data isn't safe in codex' - because it surely is (based on everything I can assume from the outside)
