“There was a higher purpose in our life. It was to do something for our country, which can make a difference to the people.” These words by Rakesh Verma, Co-founder & CEO, MapmyIndia, set the tone for a thoughtful conversation with Karishma Mehta, alongside Rashmi Verma, Co-founder, MapmyIndia, at the MapmyIndia head office as part of AWS Presents: Beyond The Boardroom in collaboration with Humans of Bombay. The conversation takes us back to the purpose that started MapmyIndia, the journey of building and mapping India from the ground up, and the many ways the company has evolved over the years. From physically mapping the country and building a rich foundation of location data to continuously adapting to how people, businesses and technology interact with the physical world, the journey has always been about looking ahead. Today, that evolution is taking MapmyIndia beyond maps as we traditionally know them. As Ankeet Bhat and Nitin Sagar discuss in the conversation, location is no longer just about “where”. It is also about “what”. What is happening around us, what it means, and how location intelligence can help consumers, businesses and governments make better decisions. The conversation also explores the role of AI in this next chapter, from making maps more dynamic and intelligent to helping us understand the physical world in entirely new ways, while keeping human accountability at the centre. From the purpose that started it all to the possibilities that lie ahead, this is a glimpse into how MapmyIndia continues to build for a changing India and a changing world. A big thank you to @awscloud and @HumansOfBombay team for bringing this conversation to life. Here's a #TrueStory - Yesterday, we had to visit 6 residential Delhi locations in a short span: NFC, East of Kailash, Vasant Vihar, Safdarjung. Only had house addresses, no location pins. Only way we could do it was with @MapmyIndiaMove. It took us direct to house, each time!
India’s own AatmaNirbhar map, MapmyIndia is here! App developers - use mapmyindia.com/api to show India’s correct maps to your users n get more technical n cost benefits (it’s free to use till very high limits). Users - ask ur fav apps to switch to MapmyIndia Maps.
