A reinforcement cage from an under-construction pier of the Anand Nagar–Saket Elevated Road project toppled onto a moving car on Kopri Bridge in Thane, damaging its front windshield. No injuries were reported. The MMRDA has imposed a Rs 2 crore penalty on the contractor and ordered a detailed investigation to determine the cause and identify safety lapses.
