AOS Diversity Thread 🧵 So I've been collecting my thoughts, and I'd like to talk about Pontifex Zenestra, the Matriarch of the Great Wheel from the upcoming Cities of Sigmar Range from @warhammer Specifically, I'd like to talk about hair and what it tells us about culture.

James at Drowned Earth (fantastic miniatures and game) has had a really bad house fire. If you have the means, he is having a sale of wonderfully made hoodies & shirts and unboxed minis. All the best to him and the family.

Hi @arbitorian (love the channel 🙂). Did some Warhammer maths that I thought you might be interested in

So there you go. If you don’t take a Power Fist and Plasma Pistol on your Marine Captains you’re being penalised. That is, I’m afraid, just bad design. It took me 2 hours with a spreadsheet to figure it out…

The reason I’m annoyed is that when one choice is simply better it closes down characterful choices. Points for wargear was there to balance sub-optimal choices that gave your army character and theme, allowing it to still be competitive

Time for more ‘grouchy old man’ opinions about the new #warhammer40k. There’s a lot to like, but I viscerally hate the constraints on unit size. Taking understrength units is now straight penalised rather than a part of balancing out an army.

I understand that it requires people with now sub-optimal load outs and unit builds to buy more models. But seriously, just give a minimum unit cost and size, a points per model cost and a max size.

I suspect it’s going to be something else that will be widely house-ruled, but that’s a bad look for a shiny new edition. Ok, that’s it. Old man has finished shouting at cloud.

Just spent the last 90 minutes seeing how tricky it would be to convert the new #warhammer40k 10th Ed Core Rules to alternate activation. Other than a combined Command Phase, some tweaks to melee and a few Stratagems, almost nothing would need to change!

I’m honestly not sure what is gained from persisting with IGoUGo. Alternate activation works with (v. popular) Warcry and Killteam. GW used it as far back as Man O’ War and used order-based activation in 1st Ed Adeptus Titanicus in 1988!

Seems like someone's trying to get out of England quickly 🤔
