Iâm sorry but itâs acc people like this who should be removed phrom DJing. If youâre not in your room dancing to the music youâre playing then you donât love this fr like the ravers do lmao! Let alone on stage. The DJ isnât dancing to their trax and they expect every1 else to?

In film studies, our prof once went on a rant abt how we have to "de-americanize" our view of art.
iirc "Americans are obsessed with plot. Form, function, feeling, they ignore it all to ask if the plot is believable or logical. All they care about is outsmarting the artist."
women ravers pls support women djs and vice versa because once youâre legal phor 35 seconds these men view you as essentially a piece of phurniture to make themselves look better and advertise you as merchandise/ eye candy phor their male audience.
can i do anything if i drop off a lineup weeks before/ was never confirmed by contract and they continue to use my name to promote on their ticket link??

unfortunately âguy whoâs trying to be a brandâ is the worst brand you can have
Every aspiring DJ I talk to is in the studio learning how to mix. Or they are trying to write the perfect song. That is not the job.
The job is selling your brand. That is the bit almost nobody wants to practice.
Look at the headliners.
A lot of them are not there because they are the best DJs in the room. They are not there because they made the best records. They are there because they can sell.
You can be world class on the decks and still play empty rooms if nobody knows who you are. The mix is the easy part. Making people care is the work.
Learn how to sell.

23 years. 23 years i waited phor my myspace emo sidebang haircut.. ohhh if 12 year old phroot could see me now
My dad clearly wanted boys and had none until recently but i think that was good because he ended up raising a strong man (me)
I actually find it surprisingly difficult to treat my son and daughter exactly the same. If my daughter says, âDad, can you bring me some ice water?â my instinct is, Of course, and I go get it for her.
If my son asks me the exact same thing, my first instinct is, No. Get up and get it yourself. My wife and I have actually argued about this whether that extra harshness I feel toward him is something I should consciously correct, or whether thereâs some useful evolutionary instinct buried in it. A father feeling compelled to make his son a little tougher than he would his daughter.
