Very moving piece on @BBCr4today about lack of funding for hospices in the U.K. What they didn’t say is we donate £6.5 Billion to animals charities but just £1.3 Billion to hospice charities. In one county a Donkey sanctuary raises more than double what a Children’s hospice does!

Don’t worry if your A level results are a bit disappointing. I got a C and two Us. And this evening I shall sit in my agreeable garden, drinking beer from my own brewery and eating food from my own farm. Prepared by my own chef.

Some of the 55,000 tennis balls used during Wimbledon are upcycled into tiny homes for harvest mice.
After the tournament, the used tennis balls, made of rubber and felt, are collected and transformed into cozy shelters by organizations like the British Wildlife Centre.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Although some Wimbledon tennis balls were turned into homes for harvest mice in the early 2000s this is no longer the case. The tournament now sells most used balls to spectators with proceeds benefiting the Wimbledon Foundation.
