The @ukhomeoffice has released NRM statistics for July to September 2024. The key points - the rate of positive decisions is still low—a hangover from the previous government's hostile environment? It would be good to have numbers that enter support.

Catastrophic cost of #Brexit on UK trade revealed in stark OBR warning. Brexit is on course to cut UK trade by 15 per cent, the government’s independent financial watchdog has warned. Brexit the gift that keeps on giving. independent.co.uk/news/uk/po…
Well done @IKEA

Great to see @SarahChampionMP raising the issue that goods tainted by #forcedlabour #modernslavery are being dumped in the UK because of no Tariff Act or Due Diligence laws. Time for new legislation or de facto we’re happy to purchase goods made by slaves

More good news and justice. Well done @metpoliceuk and @justiceandcare #modernslavery

Hi @BBCNews/@RichardStead Thanks for the article but human trafficking and smuggling are not the same. If people, as reported, are brought into the UK by Albanian gangs and are then forced to cultivate cannabis, that is human trafficking. Please correct🙏

Great to meet @UnderSecStateJ Reya in London today to talk about what the UK is doing to tackle #modernslavery and what more needs to be done to reverse the retrograde steps of the previous UK administration. The sector is speaking with one voice.

On #EUAntiTraffickingDay, we reaffirm our commitment to combating #HumanTrafficking in all its forms. Thousands are exploited in the #EU & @OSCE regions, including those fleeing wars, like the war against #Ukraine. Traumatized, desperate to provide for their families, and seeking refuge in a foreign land, these people are easy targets for criminals. The #EU & #OSCE have crafted robust policies—now's the time to reinforce our efforts as we implement them.
Human trafficking destroys lives and the very fabric of our societies. It must end. Let's end it together.

Good to read that @jessphillips @ukhomeoffice are prioritising tackling the backlog of survivors stuck in limbo in the NRM. #modernslavery #antislaveryday2024 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c20j…
Are you a victim of fraud or cyber scamming? It could be that the person scamming you is also a victim of #modernslavery. An excellent report by @FRANCE24 youtube.com/watch?v=8YrVTtZB…
When you stop and think about it, it's an appalling headline and accurately reflects just how far the previous government damaged the UK's reputation regarding its treatment of victims of the crime of #modernslavery

Chief Constable @aspsarah_crew of @ASPolice is correct which is why @UnseenUK is committed to working with the police to ensure better identification and treatment of victims of #modernslavery
