Never played a poker hand quite like this before, from the WSOP Mini Main. Pause before the reveal and guess his hand.
Some of the most memorable poker hands are when someone makes a big fold and turns out to be wrong. This isn’t one of them. It takes a rare level of discipline to make your hand, trust your read and still find the fold, especially on stream.

Moral of story:
If the watch comes off, just call it a night.
Blank Check Ben tells a story of the time he was in a high stakes poker game and someone tried to sell their watch 😳 @blankcheckben @andystackspoker
Day 6 of the @WSOP Main Event. The 60K starting stack is now worth 1 big blind.
After 5 days of clawing your way through the field, you sit there proudly adjusting the mountain of chips in front of you.
Then the poker gods remind you none of it is yours to keep 💀
My all time favorite line from Doyle that has always stuck with me.
“Poker is a game of people.”
The cards are just what we use to play. The real game is the people. Be careful who you choose to gamble with.
Happy Doyle Brunson Day
Look back at your deep runs in massive field events and be honest. How much of it was just running like God?
Here’s my @WSOP Main Event Day 5 survival checklist:
✅ Bluff shove w/ J high & get it thru
✅ Turn the nuts vs second nuts
✅ Win ginormous flip AK vs QQ
✅ Flop top set & get shoved on
✅ Call check-raise & turn trips
✅ Blast away & bink a straight
Before poker, when I was a video game degen #My9Games
I remember sitting down in a 3 handed cash game with Tom Marchese at the Bellagio back in 2016. I had no idea who he was, but he had this quiet smugness about him that made me want to outplay him so bad.
In one hand, I had garbage and the flush card hit the river. He tank called after 3 minutes with a set which tilted the shit out of me.
Reloaded. He proceeded to play me like a fiddle for the next couple hours until I quit.
It wasn’t until months later I saw a pic of him holding up a trophy from some big tourney that I felt like such a sucker.
Happy birthday Tom and you’re welcome
Also today I'm sending a very happy birthday to Tom Marchese a guy who's put together over $19M in career MTT earnings — a partypoker Millions Champion and someone who's been grinding at the highest levels for over a decade with no signs of slowing down. Tom Marchese brought that experience to the pod and it was a great one. Go relive it. Full ep on YT 👆

The pressures of being judged when playing on streams can heavily change your decisions. In cash, sometimes folding will get you labeled a nit and cost you future invites. In tourneys, it might get you labeled a cheater.

It’s sad to see what many high stakes cash games have turned into.
When you’re playing in a game with multiple players that have secretly swapped pieces, shared backing and wild side games to manufacture more recklessness, that’s a recipe for you to get fucked.
Maybe I’m old school, but having to worry about all this nonsense was never part of the games I came up in.
Never thought about it this way, but hard to disagree. Time for all live tournaments to have shot clocks from Level 1.
Try doing the math in real time in this absurd spot. Triton Main, 11 left. Do you call off trying to hit or save your last 3bb with the big blind coming up?
Is it too late to try to get good at PLO? This game on HCL is insane, 6 way all in and one guy called off with 0%

Being short on Day 3, I got it in JJ vs AK. The K was in the window, and I was on my way out until...
