I am so blessed and privileged to work alongside amazing partners, who know how to best use data (critical and important information) to drive real outcomes for clients….
@Lotame @PublicisGroupe
Finally!
I hope the White House starts using this language for the remainder of the campaign leading up to the mid-terms. It is 100% accurate that the Democrat party has devolved into a party of "jihad, islamism, and communism"........
Well done @StephenM
The strong odor of sulfur combined with white smoke was all I could see.
It was completely silent. Not a sound, nor any movement.
We had just ordered a falafel and a beer, and for the first time in two weeks, Lisa and I had decided to sit inside a restaurant, as opposed to eating outside. Every single day (and meal) the weather was perfect – temperatures in the high 70’s, low 80’s.
We ate three meals a day, outside, in the evening, under the stars.
This particular day, a Thursday, at 3:30pm, high school had just released, and a group of 20 teenage girls had arrived at the same falafel place as us.
The girls were all sitting outside the front of the establishment, laughing and giggling (and being teenagers) on picnic tables with large umbrellas shielding the table from the sunshine.
3:30pm on a Thursday.
We saw an open picnic table, and at that moment, we made a decision that to this day, still resonates with me.
“Let’s eat inside.”
Three words that changed our life.
I remember vividly everything that happened, as I replayed the moment that two loud explosions rocked the front of the falafel restaurant we were in.
I remember the sounds, the smell, the silence.
I remember the moment I looked at Lisa, and realized that she was alive.
I remember seeing bodies lying all around us.
I remember trying to stand up with all the roofing materials on top of us. Wires, sheetrock, wood, and dust……
We huddled to the kitchen of the establishment, waiting for another explosion.
An elderly woman hugged me tightly and would not let me go, she was not crying, but in shock and tugging my arm.
Excerpts from various headlines the next day in newspapers:
Prague, 5 September 1997 (RFE/RL) -- The Western press today responded with outrage and a little hope to yesterday's suicide bombings in Jerusalem's bustling Ben Yehuda Street, which killed and injured scores of Israelis.
LOS ANGELES TIMES: Sobbing teenagers clung to one another
Rebecca Trounson describes the scene this way: "The synchronized explosions -- the second such attack in five weeks -- transformed Jerusalem's Ben Yehuda Street from a casual, end-of-summer scene of bustling cafes and souvenir shops to one of carnage and fear. Sobbing teenagers clung to one another in the popular pedestrian mall, and frantic parents searched desperately for missing children."
BALTIMORE SUN: The bombs struck the living room of Jerusalem
In choosing their site, the terrorists (the militant organization Hamas claims to be responsible) invaded an Israeli soft spot. In a news analysis, Ann LoLordo quotes a writer for "The Jerusalem Post" who calls Ben Yehuda Street "the living room of Jerusalem." LoLordo writes: "The punk rockers and the prophets meet on Ben Yehuda Street. (As yesterday's) events proved once again. Ben Yehuda Street also attracts people with murder in mind." She also identifies an irony: "Four years ago, Yitzhak Rabin, prime minister of Israel, shook hands with Arafat over a peace agreement.
People danced on Ben Yehuda street that day."
We were simply eating falafel on Ben Yehuda Street.
We stepped over the teenage girls as we hurried out, who were murdered, while enjoying an after school snack on a pedestrian mall, in the heart of Jerusalem.
Their crime?
Being Jewish and living in their ancestral homeland.
That day changed the trajectory of my life.
We chose to turn this event, this terror attack into something that allowed us to “enjoy every sandwich.” (To borrow a Warren Zevon quote)
In every way imaginable…..
To take nothing for granted, and try to control our destiny, no matter where and how the storm winds of life blew into us, or with us.
To try to not sweat the small stuff.
“Toss away stuff you don't need in the end, keep what's important and know who’s your friend.”
To try to value experiences over possessions.
As of today, I have lived a total of 21,212 days.
When this terror attack happened, while we sat in the falafel restaurant I had lived 10,620 days.
Since that day, Sept 4th, 1997 – up until this very day, I have lived 10,591 days.
Almost at the half-time of “pre and post” living, since my rebirth of sorts.
I’m not a martyr. I’m not remotely portraying or sharing this event in any way, other than to remember what could have been, and what was.
A few of the victims names:
Yael Botvin, 14 (also a U.S. citizen)
Sivan Zarka, 14
Smadar Elhanan, 14
Rami Kozashvili, 20
Eliahu Markowitz, 40
Yael, Sivan, and Smadar would have been 43 years old.
They missed their days…..days of life, days of energy, days of creation…..days of amazement.
In some small way, I hope we made them proud. I hope our journey and the 10,591 days since then, has made a positive impact on someone else's journey.
I’m confident it has.
If you have read this far, know this.
I’m a proud Jewish American.
A fierce Zionist.
The event that we survived on Sept 4th 1997 made me realize that I must speak loudly, boldly, and truthfully to the values, and ideals that are most important to me.
Silence supports the oppressor. I will never be silent, or cower to the mob mentality.
I have been extremely blessed and lucky.
I intend to make the next 30 years, or 10,959 days perhaps remaining in my existence, more impactful and full of energy – than the last 21,000+.
You see, a few Hamas terrorists could not kill us.
They tried.
The sulfur and smoke of their bombs on the suicide vests they wore on their bodies, woke me up, and continues to permeate my senses.
To be the best version (and most imperfect) of who I can be, and should be, with no roadmap…..only instinct, and good energy.
And, I take nothing for granted…….zero.
I’m super grateful, and full of gratitude to all those who enriched me along the way.
Starting with Lisa, and our children together.
29 years later, after ordering a falafel and a beer on the streets of Jerusalem.
I’m still here.
Enjoying every sandwich.

A thread on the coming storm of AI for Businesses, directed at CTO's and CFO's.
1 - AI feels cheap right now. That's not an accident — it's the free trial. Every major AI provider is still in growth mode, subsidizing usage to win market share.
That phase doesn't last.
8 - This is the area of focus that I believe where an "independent" platform, focused on cost, results, governance, and transparency will thrive.
I am less inclined to trust any one platform to showcase this set of capabilties, because they will be "disincentived" to drive down clients usage and revenue....quite the opposite, once they are all public companies.
Last evening's #Phish performance at #MSG was magical & full of positive energy from start to finish. Thank you band for "blowing our fuses" in reality and metaphorically. (Show stopped during Wolfman's jam for 15 mins due to a fuse blowout). Here is the coming out of Simple Jam from my phone.

Two visibly Jewish men were stabbed today while walking on the Upper West Side.
The assailant yelled, “Allah Akbar” as he stabbed the innocent men.
Litmus test:
If you voted for Mamdani, or you support him, I’ve got no place (or space) in my life for you.
Relative. Friend. Co-worker.
I do not care.
I expect nothing from the Mayor. Only continued support for violence, and hate, and anti-semitism from him……
His supporters are worse than he is.
That’s my litmus test for my fellow humans, at its most basic level.
Pretty simple.
I've enjoyed watching the videos and clips of Europeans who are coming to the United States, to see their team playing in the World Cup......
They have been fascinated, stunned, and super positive about their experiences.
The food they have consumed, the culture they have embraced, and the overall fabric of America has been as though a "bright light" has gone off, when they fully embrace how absolutely unique, amazing, and incredible our country is.
I saw a gentleman from Scotland who was in Boston for the first time and summed it up well.
"We grew up watching TV about America. We watched a steady diet of programs like, "The Jerry Springer Show" and "The Sally Jesse Raphael Show" as well as ""Rikki Lake." These shows were the mainstay on TV for us showcasing the shallowness of the American people, and the culture here...."
"And now that I've come here and visited this great country, I realized, I was indoctrinated to look down on Americans."
This man was brutally honest, and it hit me.
Tik Tok and social media are doing the same thing today, what The Jerry Springer Show was doing in the 90's.....but, now it is exponential in reach and frequency, and no longer on just TV.
Teaching the youth that our foundations, our values, are all terrible, and need to be altered towards Socialism and Communism. The embracing of Islam as the mechanism to deliver positive change.....
Basically indoctrination that Judeo Christian culture, and Western Civilization needs to be destroyed.
We are witnessing it in real time.
It's working.
The virus has found a host.
And the host is us.

In one week a political party elected a man who harassed multiple women, and proudly wears the tattoo on his chest of a well known SS/Nazi group who orchestrated murder of minorities as sport.
This particular political party also elected a sympathizer of Al-Qaeda, ISIS and Hamas.
I'd call this quite a run......a run of values, or lack thereof.
Believe all women, and "You're a Nazi" (directed at everyone this ideology disagrees with) as important considerations were on the ballot, and soundly lost.
Power TRUMPS virtue.
Save the platitudes, and own it.
I interview someone for a position.
The candidate goes home and tells his Dad about the interview, and he tells him my name.
The Father Googles me.
Comes back with a post I wrote in 2014.
The Dad loves it, and the band, and found it a fan website. The title of his thank you email to me is.....
"On my way to better things....."

Happy Passover......
This holiday is a guidebook for awareness, survival, and resilience.
Despair & hope, all rolled into one meal, holiday, and roadmap.
I took this pic last night, and I love it.
Am' Yisrael Chai.....
Good prevails over evil.
"With a mighty hand, and an outstretched arm......"
My instinct tells me we are only weeks away from Tucker Carlson hosting Ilhan Omar as a guest on his show.
.......for the life of me......I cant figure out what could possibly unite these strange bedfellows......
If we were playing Wheel of Fortune, this might be a hint.
Th*y b*th h*te JEWS.
