Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, has scheduled a vote for this Tuesday, March 11th, on a continuing resolution extension bill that includes a 57% cut to the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (@CDMRP) -- a devastating blow to federal research funding for kidney cancer (the KCRP), and many other diseases.
This reduction would significantly undermine progress in developing new treatments and improving patient outcomes. KidneyCAN is actively working to oppose these cuts. In the next 2 days, we will provide updates.
Many of you will be meeting directly with offices of your representatives and we would like to equip you with the most current talking points to ensure they understand the importance of protecting this critical research funding.
