My AI assistant could NOT buy me a coffee machine. Full honest story I used Muse to buy a Philips 800 espresso machine from Costco. The homework was genuinely excellent. She (yes, she) scanned the whole espresso lineup, analyzed 800+ reviews, checked price history vs Black Friday, even picked the right credit card. I like this assistant; it's my daily driver. But the actual purchase? Costco's login page wouldn't even load in its browser. I took over the browser and clicked "Place Order" myself. $299.99 (was $439.99). Where we really are: AI does research brilliantly. Humans still click buy. The gap between agent hype and agent reality is exactly one checkout button wide. @finkd @alexandr_wang
