A heartfelt speech was delivered by student representative Chen Haoyue at HKUST(GZ)'s 2026 Undergraduate Opening Ceremony.
Sharing her childhood story of disassembling a sweeping robot, she spoke to all freshmen about being curious, pursuing interdisciplinary exploration and embracing uncertainty. For her, learning to code is just the next "screwdriver". She urged peers to be defined by what they create, not what they memorize.
