Headlines stating the UK's death toll will be the worst in Europe are unhelpful.
Only Germany has a higher population than us and their response has been unusually effective.
Fatalities will be higher here than in Spain for example, our population is 20 million higher!

Because journalists at the press conferences are asking questions through the prism of establishing political culpability, they are not asking the questions that matter (1/10)

Sick of people saying nhs staff dont get paid well. I'm paid pretty well thanks very much. Its obviously not the same amount as some and I doubt I would say no to a pay rise, who would? It's a good salary, excellent holiday, pension. Sick pay, maternity leave, careers leave

I’m fed up of reading drivel about PPE so thought I’d do a thread with my two cents.
For information, I worked in the PPE for many years (admittedly over 15 years ago) today work with a number of importers of safety products getting their products online.

China is a dictatorship that, for decades, enforced a one child per family policy under penalty of forced sterilization. But they can't close down the farmer's market from hell? #CoronaVirus #WetMarkets

This is why I think schools will open much sooner than people realise. 🧐
Of course I am no expert. But government are bound to eventually come to the conclusions of this FT reader.
When they do, they will open the schools.

As we end week 2 of the lockdown, I’ve been thinking about Osama Bin Laden. He was stuck in his house with three wives for five years. I’m beginning to wonder if he called in those Navy Seals himself.

I have now been sent the Labour dossier on their claim to save the average household £6,700. Even by the standards of modern politics, it is impossible to stress how bloody shoddy these numbers are and how quickly they fall apart. Thread follows, with occasional swearing.

Severn Trent are there repairing the problem on the Birmingham-bound carriageway which could take up to a fortnight to fix.
