Huge credit to Zack Polanski for an excellent @bbclaurak interview in the face of hostility and constant interruptions.
So interesting how Laura Kuensberg's interview style changed from softball with Yvette Cooper to hostile with Zack. #bbclaurak

The Labour Government are still continuing to arm a genocide.
They're still locking up pensioners who hold up cardboard signs.
And Palestinians are still being murdered every single day.
The Green Party will always unapologetically speak the truth.

UK pundits today: Zack Polanski, you said you’d replace Labour but having forced the Labour Party to change the Prime Minister within the first year of your leadership, you have failed to win Keir Starmer’s former seat in a by-election. I’m afraid you have no choice but to resign
Andy Higson retweeted
We TRIPLED our vote share.
Second best byelection result in Green Party history.
On a date Labour chose to deliberately clash same week as our conference.
All with a brand new PM in previously a "safe" seat.

The Greens doubled their votes, Labour lost a third of their votes - in a seat where the Labour prime minister was elected two years ago, and which Labour has held since 1983.
Oh and your pal Farage ran 8 times before getting elected to Parliament and being crowned PM in waiting.

Such a revealing, maddening post & an illustration of why so many progressives will not return to Labour. It also does such a disservice to the real Left in the Labour Party, many of whom are good and committed socialists.
Let's be clear: Starmerism wasn't defeated by the Labour Left, even if the SCG were brave and principled in standing up to Starmer and McSweeney. Starmer was defeated because people voted Peray out and the Greens into power in councils across the country. That allowed a combination of soft-left MPs and a whole bunch of Labour Together opportunists in Starmer's Cabinet to putsch Starmer. There wasn't even a leadership election!
And now Burnham has done one good Conference speech (which may well be deflated by a brutal budget in 4 weeks), Peray and Restoration and others are acting like they won this battle, that they're the brave warriors who stayed and fought and returned Labour to the sunlit uplands.
And look at this language. "Militant entryists." That's the language of arch-Starmerites. Who are these entryists? The 250k ordinary members who left the Labour Party, appalled by punching down and genocide complicity? The people who left, and organised, and won, and are now being lectured and scolded, told in patronising terms to come back "home" to a Party that treated them like dirt, that still sees them as entryists?
Labour could cohere a progressive coalition under Burnham. But if he does it will be in spite of this crowing, not because of it.
A lesson in damage limitation by @AaronBastani and Novara media…
They pretend to be somewhat neutral, but let’s be honest they have been a mouthpiece for the Greens for a few years now.
Let’s all agree that the LP needs to have a strong and active left flank (not militant entryists!) and policies that appeal to younger voters and the issues that concern them.
Our fault for leaving those gaps, but it is time to bring it all home.

Andy Burnham has a majority of 166 and nearly three years until a general election.
If he wanted to do something about;
* Energy bills
* Membership of the EU
* Social care
* Nationalising Thames Water
* Literally anything else
... he could do it *today*.

Andy Burnham's making a bunch of half-promises, kicking multiple cans down the road and people are falling over themselves in a delusional haze convinced that this is finally the Labour leader who finally isn't going to disappoint them.

NEW: In a Texas courtroom Monday, 25 migrant children lined the pews — a 9yo rested her head on the table, a 6yo pretended to fly an airplane, and a 3yo played with the mic. Many in attendance didn't have an attorney — and a 13yo was ordered removed. A look inside, thru sketches.
