openai needs focus, research and 1-2 products at a time until they're succesful. if you throw many darts at once some may land but the ones that didn't will make you look silly
OpenAI's retreat from expensive side projects may be reversing as the company explores a deal to revive Sora while expanding its efforts in robotics, creator tools and personal devices. Read more details: thein.fo/47l0mJR

We third worlders are f*cked
We’re committing a portion of Anthropic’s shares to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a new wholly owned entity dedicated entirely to the public benefit. It will start off with 5% of our shares. For every 50% increase in the company’s value over a set baseline, we can contribute up to an extra 2%, subject to our board’s discretion. In total, this means that roughly 20% of Anthropic’s shares are committed to the public good. Our co-founders have already pledged to donate 80% of their equity, and around half our employees are donating a portion of their equity as part of a donation matching program we’ve run since our founding. In the post below, we share more details about our new fund. anthropic.com/news/public-be…

It was clear from the beginning that third-party models were going to go away, simplicity wins all the time, but i hope elon gets the damn grok to sota real soon
Cursor is now part of The X Subscription. Current Cursor subscribers can keep their plan or switch to The X Subscription. Paid plans share one usage pool across Cursor, Grok Build, and other Grok products, with twice the coding usage on Grok models as the equivalent Cursor plan. Premium, Super, and Ultra also include Grok Bot. To make room for more Grok usage, third-party models in Cursor move to API pricing on the new plans. We'll keep working to make your usage go further, with more compute, better inference, and more token-efficient models. The X Subscription is available at cursor.com/pricing.

in tech, the only moat is the pace of innovation
I'm old enough to remember Ramp vs Brex late 2010s and how everyone thought there was no way Ramp would catch up with Brex's headstart. Brex ruled SF (billboards all over the 101) and Ramp was based in NYC No one is safe, only moat is whether or not you've got that dawg in you

The future is bright
This will sound super crazy, but I see a path to SpaceX being worth orders of magnitude more than the current Earth economy

I was talking with a friend the other day about elon and she was telling me he just wanted more and more money. Well it turns out she was confusing him with the warren buffet type
Warren Buffett told Elon Musk he wouldn't want to take him on in candy. Musk said he was super super serious about starting a candy company. Buffett's had already made over $2 billion on a $25 million bet. It started on a Tesla earnings call. Musk said moats are lame. If your only defense against invading armies is a moat, you will not last long. What matters is the pace of innovation. A moat is Buffett's word for whatever protects a business from competitors. A brand, low costs, loyal customers. Days later the question was read to Buffett on stage in front of his shareholders. Is Elon right? Charlie Munger went first. Warren does not intend to build an actual moat. Buffett admitted that the pace has picked up and more moats are open to attack than before. You have to defend yours all the time. He said Elon may turn things upside down in some areas. Then he added one line. "I don't think he'd want to take us on in candy." Berkshire owns See's Candies. Buffett bought it in 1972 for $25 million. Musk fired back on Twitter. He was starting a candy company, and it was going to be amazing. Then he promised to build a moat and fill it with candy. The candy company never happened. See's has given Berkshire over $2 billion in pretax income, and it needed only about $40 million of investment along the way. What protects a business better, a moat or the pace of innovation? Follow me for more stories like this.

I remember using Spotify on windows and 16gb of ram was not enough to run such a big slop
Spotifast 0.12 is out! Spotify, fast, in 200MB of RAM, for all OSs. It now consumes 0% CPU when idle. spotifast.rocks/
