As a reminder Bowman, you called the principled organizers asking you to not supply the genociders with bombs psyops at the time. I'm glad you shifted, but this is not personal. Nithya can commit to BDS as you did, and the organization has a duty to uphold its line.
They’re still killing children every, single, day.

DAC is absolutely right to call for the disbandment of the NYPD’s Strategic Response Group and the resignation of Jessica Tisch. These are demands that organizers in the streets have been making for years, and it’s long past time they became nonnegotiable.
The NYPD cannot claim to protect New Yorkers while acting as the enforcement arm of ICE, brutalizing protesters, and shielding federal agents from accountability.
Any elected official who claims to represent a progressive agenda should be publicly demanding, at minimum, the abolition of ICE, the disbandment of the SRG, and Tisch’s immediate resignation.
This is the absolute floor. We don’t need more statements of concern or performative outrage from politicians who refuse to confront the institutions carrying out this violence. We need them to take a side, publicly and unequivocally.
Yesterday, an ICE agent opened fire in Marble Hill. They shot a member of our community in the neck while he was in his car. His five-year-old kid was in a child seat in the back of the car when ICE agents fired at least 7 rounds into it. This was in the middle of the afternoon, with children walking home from school and people heading home from work. Federal agents put every one of them in danger.
When I was in Marble Hill last night I saw NYPD officers rapidly escalating violence. As I was trying to de-escalate, I was shoved to the ground by an officer. I witnessed unmarked law enforcement cars hitting protestors as NYPD officers pushed people out of its path. And instead of condemning ICE’s violence, Police Commissioner Tisch attempted to justify the shooting by reading off our neighbor’s past interactions with police.
The NYPD spent more time protecting a militia that just shot someone than protecting New Yorkers. Last night, the NYPD and Commissioner Tisch violated the spirit, if not the letter, of our sanctuary city policies and fueled the Trump Administration’s attempt to demonize our communities. The NYPD’s Strategic Response Group must be disbanded as quickly as possible, and Commissioner Tisch must step down.
In this district, there are mothers who are afraid to send their kids to school, workers who are afraid to show up for their shifts, and people who won’t call for help anymore because they can’t be sure who will come. That’s what it means to have a violent militia operating in your community. You don’t feel safe walking down your own street.Â
For decades, we’ve been told ICE can be fixed with more oversight, better training, or reform. But you can’t reform an agency whose purpose is to terrorize immigrant families. You can’t train cruelty out of a system built to enact cruelty. ICE must be abolished.
This moment demands that everyone step up. Elected officials at every level need to stop hedging and say it plainly: Abolish ICE now. Our city must enforce every sanctuary protection we have and city officials must ensure this cannot happen again.

🕊️🇵🇸 On this day, we honor the tens of thousands of Palestinian lives that have been ended, if not utterly destroyed, by Isr*eli + US imperial violence since October 7th, 2023.

Who now see the international system of imperialist capitalism for what it is: an existential threat to the working class!

Palestinians have demonstrated to the workers of the world a generational struggle for liberation — an injustice so abhorrent that it bonds people in solidarity to fundamentally change a world that could allow it to happen.
Al Aqsa Flood is one of the major ruptures of our time that sprang forth the current organizing conditions. Conditions we exist in broadly due to the rapid response of the Palestine solidarity movement on the ground, in its wake. And a movement DSA was largely absent from.
The Palestinian cause is not a cause for Palestinians only, but a cause for every revolutionary, wherever they are, as a cause of the exploited and oppressed masses in our era.
