As @usekaneo gets into it's more refined era, I'd like to celebrate a milestone we reached today which is very dear to me. And that is 4000 stars on GitHub ⭐
As we all know, stars don't mean much except a number but it's a nice validation for the project itself. Congratulations to everyone involved, what a beautiful week this has been for open source!
Try out Kaneo on Android - iOS, FDroid and Play Store coming soon. (You could self-build iOS tho.)

Sometimes, the open-source version of a product feels like an inferior alternative to its proprietary counterpart.
Next week, I'll show you why you always wanna bet on open source.
My @what_the_stack talk is up 🎥
"I Stopped Throwing Errors and My Code Finally Works"
We've all shipped catch (e: unknown) {}. A Promise hides how it fails, so you guess.
This is @EffectTS_: errors as values, typed, compiler finally on your side.

Tin's first PR to Kaneo, back in March, fixed file uploads with umlauts in the name.
Seven months and 125 merged PRs later, he's built the Gantt view, i18n, Gitea sync, the MCP server, and Home and Inbox.
Kaneo wouldn't be what it is without him. Thank you @10xtin!
Staying consistent is more important than anything else. Passed the 1000 commits mark on Kaneo!
I'm just getting started. 😏
I love Kaneo's community, so I decided to build a community page for all the things we find using Kaneo.
This week we got a mail poller which creates tasks in Kaneo for you created by GEWIS, a student association!

One day, there will be a team in F1 called Kaneo, similar to Atlassian Williams, and we'll have a better formula than them 🤣
I had no idea how to grow my product, so I decided to play around a little.
So I built a simple SEO agent for Kaneo. Every Monday it reads Search Console and Plausible, finds pages that don't perform well, and drafts fixes for me to review.
Open source has always been one of the best things about software engineering, and I've always loved getting contributions to Kaneo. Lately, though, ~90% of PRs are AI slop I end up closing. And when I ask if a PR was AI-generated, the reply is… also AI.
