This paper is a first global attempt to see how well protected areas cover insect species. PAs do not adequately cover the 89K species in the study. And, we need more information on the occupancy of the 5.5 million species that are out there.
76% of assessed insect species not adequately covered by protected areas. Researchers @idiv @UniJena @UFZ_de & @unisqaus recommend giving more consideration to insects when implementing #30by30 @UNBiodiversity. idiv.de/en/news/news_single_…
