Among the 35 jail births identified in the news over 10 years, jail staff ignored repeated cries for help or medical assistance in at least 24 cases.

We learned today that the MA legislature - Joint Committee on Election Laws voted to not move the bill to REINSTATE the right to vote to incarcerated people. Registered voters of the Commonwealth of MA should have the right to vote no matter where they live. Taking the right to vote away from incarcerated people in 2020 was an act of oppression and control that disproportionately affects black and brown communities and is tantamount to further entrenching a caste system in the state.
