Tengo un profundo respeto por el Dr. Mariano Barbacid. Precisamente por eso, es clave una información honesta que no genere falsas expectativas. Del ratón al fármaco hay años de trabajo y ninguna certeza de éxito. Es un deber moral explicar esto y defender investigación.
La empresa del bioquímico Mariano Barbacid proclamaba a toda pantalla en su página web —hasta este viernes— que han logrado “la primera terapia efectiva contra el cáncer de páncreas”, pero el eslogan está lejos de ser cierto social.elpais.com/0wwsu5

🧠🔬 Avance clave en la lucha contra el glioblastoma desde la USAL
Un equipo de investigadoras del grupo liderado por @ataberurbi en el @Incyl_Usal, en colaboración con el @czbiohub, ha desarrollado un modelo experimental en ratón que replica con gran precisión el tipo más común de glioblastoma, el tumor cerebral más frecuente y agresivo. 👏
Gracias a tecnologías avanzadas, han estudiado a fondo tanto las células tumorales como su entorno, identificando nuevas posibles dianas terapéuticas. Este modelo permitirá probar tratamientos innovadores, como un péptido diseñado por el propio equipo.
