Today @MayorBowser weighed in on Trump’s plan for East Potomac Park, saying since it is a federal course it should be rehabilitated. But: “Public access has to be maintained. And in the case of East Potomac Park, that is a road that is heavily used by people who use the park.”

This proposed plan is absolutely unacceptable.
Here’s what the plan actually does: 36 holes of public golf cut to 18. No more mini golf. No more park. More running / cycling road. No more playground. No more introductory course. Nobody has said a word about the Cherry blossoms.
Who is this actually for? Not the kid learning to golf. Not the family in a walk. Not the birders.
This was never about the public. It’s for the elitists who want a private showcase, and one man’s ego.
Not to mention some of the best cherry blossoms in DC…

MPD is focusing its street-safety outreach on e-bikes and e-scooters across DC beginning today, 10/16.
Reminders for riders:
1. Travel with the flow of traffic
2. Only one rider per device at a time
3. Always wear a helmet
This is a citywide effort, with increased efforts in the U-Street Corridor, Navy Yard, and Gallery Place-Chinatown.
