Once AI gets “good enough” for most things, the broader public will default to speed, ease of use, and cost.

The battle for AI control is fundamentally about people who make things vs people who consume things. People who make things love AI and are embracing it fully, because they can envision a future where the tools give them massive leverage to build the things they want to build. People who consume things view AI as a threat that will take their ability to generate a steady income that allows them to continue the life that they’ve built for themselves, because they either a) don’t want to put in the effort to build their own thing b) they are too cowardly to build their own thing or c) they don’t think they are capable of doing their own thing. Politicians are weaponizing the second group through the fears around AI potentially wiping off humanity off the face of the planet. The next 2 years are going to be extremely hectic as this dynamic plays out while AI models continue to improve.
