Major life hack: block time in the morning and before you go to sleep for mental reps. It can be anything you want to improve. Your presentation skills. Spontaneous conversations. Your gym exercises. Anything. Our brain is incredibly powerful. Don’t skip the mental sessions.
you’d be surprised how much your life can change when you start believing the impossible is possible.
you start believing you can learn the skill. get the job. build the body. start the business. become the person you keep imagining.
then you start acting like it’s possible.
most people wait for proof before they believe in themselves. but sometimes you have to believe first, work for it, and let the results become the proof.
you could spend the next year being realistic about everything that might go wrong. or you could spend it being slightly delusional about everything that could go right.
either way, a year will pass.

Absolutely.
I was very shy at a young age, and it took several (painful) years with a Daoist master to realize it was all ego; a very nasty, twisted one.
It's actually one of the most devastating types of ego because it stops you from fulfilling your potential.
You can't get a girl you want, you can't make money, you can't make connections... You become useless, but in your mind, you think you are a special, delicate, misunderstood genius.

Daily reminder: the world is mostly run by people of middling competence and unusually high agency. If you want to make a difference, start agency-maxxing.

Become someone who wastes nothing. A bad job gives you skills. A difficult person teaches you boundaries. A failed idea gives you better judgement. A random conversation gives you a new perspective. A painful year can completely change what you value. You don't need everything that happens to you to be good. The bad often teaches you to appreciate the good. Be
grateful for what goes right, learn from what goes wrong, and remember that one day the
experiences you struggled through will become the wisdom you live by.

Shopify billionaire co-founder & CEO Tobi Lütke — one of the most analytically rigorous founders alive — uses affirmations.
His exact words:
"If you tell yourself or write down something about yourself 100 times, it writes into the neurofrontal cortex at such a deep level that your brain will start reconciling you to that. It just works."
His personal example:
He was terrified of public speaking.
For one week he sat down every day for 10 minutes and wrote: "I love public speaking."
A week later the fear was gone.
"It's not like a placebo. You just actively change your neurofrontal cortex in this moment."
Your brain starts shaping your behavior around the identity you rehearse most.

This is the best film ever made about how larping actually works.
Came across a post on here about someone getting free gym and sauna access just by walking through hotel lobbies like they were regulars. Nobody ever stopped them. Why would they? They looked like they'd done it a hundred times.
And genuinely, it's absurd how much people just give you when you act like the crown is already yours, all because people subconsciously decide who you are in the first few seconds, before you've said a word worth judging.
All you need is to present yourself as that person and people treat you as that person, not as you currently are.
And with that comes better service, free upgrades, skipping the queue, exceptions made for you, off-menu options.
And eventually you stop larping, for the state you occupy long enough occupies you.
Every young man should watch Catch Me If You Can. It’s one of the greatest portrayals of being confident, charismatic, and resourceful.
“It’s not the lack of resources, it’s your lack of resourcefulness that stops you.” — Tony Robbins
Watch it every month and let your brain absorb those absurd amounts of confidence and resourcefulness that will help you deal with any situation.
10/10. RECOMMEND.

One of my strongest convictions is that the world is a giant machine constructed to humiliate you for not taking action. 3 quick examples:
- You're thinking of starting a business
The most stupid, 80 IQ, visionless, incompetent people are currently running businesses making millions of dollars. This applies to every domain of business. As you get more business experience, you see it more and more and more. Reality specifically installed these people to make it clear you have zero excuses
- You start running or lifting
Start running and you'll encounter much older, much fatter individuals passing you at great speed. Start lifting and you'll encounter absolute genetic disasters lifting twice what you can and looking infinitely better. Reality specifically installed these people to point out that you can go infinitely further if you put in even a fraction of the effort they did
- You want a girlfriend but are insecure
You walk the street and look closely at couples. The ugliest, balding, short, high-pitched voice, poor and otherwise "low status" infidels are walking around with girls who are in love with them. Reality specifically installed these people to point out that your fears and inaction has no logical basis in reality
---
This same thing applies everywhere, in all of life
Look carefully anywhere and you will see the same thing
Reality has been constructed carefully by a benevolent trickster God specifically to humiliate you for not taking action
The worst sin of all is inaction and lack of courage
Out of love, he finds every possible way to point out that even a tiny quantity of action can outperform almost everything. And makes that clear by showing that the most incompetent and ugly freaks succeed far beyond you when they keep taking basic steps forward
So you have no excuse at all

Okay but as someone whose crippling perfectionism & fear of failure is LITERALLY destroying my life this comment at the bottom of a tumblr post is BLOWING my mind?? Like what if instead of approaching everything as a win or lose scenario I think of it as an experiment instead??

“I would go to the gym but I only have 20 mins” — so go for 20!
“I would learn Spanish but I have a bad accent” — so speak with a bad accent!
“I would text my old friend this funny thing I found but we haven’t talked in years & it feels awkward” — so feel awkward!

Paul Graham on why AI might never replace startup founders:
"AIs don't have needs. Airbnb existed because its founders couldn't pay rent. Facebook existed because Zuck wanted to know what other Harvard kids were up to"
AI can build the thing. Wanting the thing badly enough to start is still human

The 375 Prompt Book for Fundraising is live 📊
The research layer of a raise, finding investors, vetting fit, writing outreach, used to be the slow, expensive part. A placement agent charges 5% of the round for it.
I rebuilt it as 375 copy-paste prompts: thevccorner.com/p/375-prompt…
Paste one into Claude, fill in the brackets, and the analyst's two weeks happen in an afternoon.
Which is why raising gets harder, not easier. Every founder in your batch now generates the same list, the same email. That part just commoditized.
What stayed valuable is the 20% no prompt can touch:
▫️ It builds the target list, but misses which partner is full this quarter
▫️ It ranks funds by fit, but misses whose last two bets in your space went to zero
▫️ It writes a flawless cold email, but one warm intro beats two hundred of them
You get all 375 prompts, plus an honest map of the 20% that closes the round.
