Before AI: ideas are cheap, execution is everything. After AI: execution is cheap, so ideas should matter more. But a good idea gets cloned in a weekend — so ideas are cheap too. Taste? Copied the moment it's visible. Speed? Everyone ships fast now. So what's the moat?

I just finally figured out why I keep seeing weird "explain u-factor of glass" in my Claude. One of the earliest questions I asked Claude 2 years ago was "explain u factor of glass door". Somehow it went to set my name to "explain u-factor of glass door"🤣

If open models like Kimi are as good as the best closed models like OpenAI and Anthropic's and Amazon and Microsoft can serve them w/o paying royalties, any reason for any one to keep using those expensive closed models?

"Hey Siri" never works when you need it the most. For example, a clock alarm rings while driving with iPhone in my pocket, "Hey Siri stop the alarm" doesn't trigger it, as if iPhone doesn't think it is in a state to receive "Hey Siri".

Both @GeminiApp and @ChatGPTapp failed to generate a runnable web app on iOS. Kudos to @claudeai but its 3d understanding needs improvement. After 3 iterations of wrong modeling I had to describe the shape in words for it to finally get it.

My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.

Most software engineer interviews suck. This is great! martiancraft.com/blog/2024/0… My last company is also very pragmatic: - short phone interview - basic (no leetcode madness) algorithm interview - paired programming with an engineer working on a real ticket in real product code

China: US's potential TikTok ban is “an act of bullying”. Also China: TikTok is banned in China, along with other social media platforms. The Chinese version of TikTok is called Douyin, which is only available in China and subject to monitoring and censorship by the government.

Apple just terminated Epic's developer account, and they admitted that this tweet was one of the reasons. We don't want to think about Apple being evil. It would be so inconvenient. We don't want to switch to Android. But I see ever more signs that power has corrupted them.
Replying to @TimSweeneyEpic
Apple leadership faces some massive decisions in the coming weeks as the contradictions between their stated principles and the intended and actual consequences of their present policies are reckoned with: the app store monopoly, the digital goods payments monopoly, the tax, the suppression of true information about competing purchasing options, the blocking of competing web browser engines and outright destruction of web apps. It doesn’t have to be this way. Apple is a few bold and visionary decisions away from being the company they once were and that they still advertise themselves to be: beloved brand to consumers, partner to developers, and overlord to none.

Apple has terminated our developer account and now we cannot develop the Epic Games Store for iOS. This is a serious violation of the EU’s Digital Markets Act. We will continue to fight to get back on iOS! epicgames.com/site/en-US/new…

“Apple could have just lowered its commission rates across the board and dropped its anti-steering clause. Let developers promote their prices, let them do whatever they want! In that other reality, Apple wouldn’t care because it knew IAP was the better solution and that it would still win.”

Apple playing hurt baby. The App Store helped Spotify so much!! We provide all the API!!1! Nobody would buy iPhones without support for apps. It’s in their own best interest to provide a dev toolkit and support. apple.com/newsroom/2024/03/t…

10 days after I contacted them, Apple hasn't solved my issue, not to mention it should not happen in the first place. How could  suddenly expire App Store agreement and immediately disable all In-App Purchases without notifying you? My app income has been 0 for almost 1 month.
Does StoreKit return 0 products all of sudden when Paid Apps agreement expires in App Store Connect? My IAP dropped to 0, I found my Paid Apps agreement expired (I didn't receive any notification) and StoreKit returns 0 products.
