We started a blog about our move to the Adirondacks! Here's my longish short answer to the questions of what and why.

I sent my husb a photo of myself in a Scooby Doo costume and he left me on read for hours, so I guess I’m divorced now
The casting of run-of-the-mill cheating and mild domestic inequality as “abuse” is troubling, especially in the guise of a novel by a writer y’all seem to like. Great, incisive review.
My grouchiest review in a while + one falling well outside the critical consensus, I'm afraid. On Sarah Manguso's latest + the new language and criteria for "covert domestic abuse" newyorker.com/magazine/2024/…
Omg I have been searching for 7 years for this photo. I knew it was an iconic woman artist surrounded by borzois but I didn’t remember it was my girl Shannen

I’ll still tell you, stop it with the heroes. Nobody needs to be your hero, and the people hurt and loved wrecked by your heroes, they don’t need your hand-wringing and the world doesn’t need it

Wait look how happy everyone is, like they are one big team that won the Olympics of everything??? Tears are rolling down my face?? Yay Miss Texas 2024, thank you for improving my life
I propose the “fuck it” fallacy.
It’s the erroneous belief that if you slip briefly in upholding a healthy habit, or give into temptation once or twice, that you might as well say fuck it and do whatever you want.
It is a killer one for me. Probably like many perfectionists.
Pine straw. I still can’t quite believe y’all don’t know about pine straw.

6-year-old on the marshmallow her dad roasted: “Wow! You should take a video of it and send it to Internet. And say, ‘This is from the Robinson house. Come anytime to see me do it again!”
I’ve loved Alice Munro since I first read a book of her stories when I was 79 years old
That’s how it feels, anyway. I was probably 19, but as soon as I began reading, I became much, much older.

In my view, @Columbia is a real estate holdings venture that tolerates academic classes as a side hustle. If it actually delivers on the threat to close down the campus & evict students & faculty, then it'll have merely excised the side hustle, revealing its true beating heart.
