i’ve been posting here for a while, so thought i’d properly introduce myself :)
three years ago i started learning design and coding off youtube. no course, no one teaching me. just watching, copying layouts i liked, and figuring out why the good ones worked.
did that every day after school for two years. no clients, no audience, just practising and slowly getting better.
then last year i started posting my work on x. nothing fancy, just sharing what i was working on and trying to stay consistent.
a few months later, i got my first client from here. since then, it’s led to working with 8-9 fig ecom brands
my old account got disabled recently, so i started again on this one.
still studying, still designing, and still figuring a lot of things out as i go.
want to share more of my work and the process behind it here. if you’re into design, ecom or building something yourself, would love to connect :)
Make the product easy to understand at a glance 👀
Better product page = clearer benefits + an easier buying decision 🏈
here’s how i make $15k/mo as a solo freelance designer.
if you’re a designer struggling to find consistent work, here’s what i’d tell you:
make your portfolio relevant to the work you want. if you want ecom clients, show them product pages, Lps etc. don’t make someone scroll through ten unrelated projects to figure out whether you can help.
before opening figma, i read reviews and ask what customers struggle with. sometimes the page needs a clearer explanation of the product before it needs a new layout.
when i share work, i explain a few decisions. why something moved higher, what i removed and how it helps the customer. it gives people more to judge than a screenshot.
i also ask for feedback. after staring at the same page for hours, you stop noticing things. having someone explain what confused them is useful, even when it means redoing a section i liked.
please keep your clients updated. if you said you’d send something on friday and it’s not ready, tell them before friday. having to chase someone makes the whole project frustrating, even when the work is good.
i also stay in touch after launch. fixing the small issues and being available for the next project has led to a lot more work than constantly chasing new clients.
my AI bill is getting a little ridiculous 😭
chatgpt pro is $500, cursor ultra is another $200, and sometimes with extra API usage brings the monthly total close to $600.
honestly love using these tools, but didn’t expect them to become this much of a monthly expense.
been thinking about switching to claude code. heard opus 5.5 is really good, but curious how the limits hold up when you’re using it a lot.
anyone made the switch? are you spending less, or does it end up being the same thing with a different bill lol
same product. completely different first impression.
redesigned this smart cupping homepage to make the value clearer, build trust faster and give the product a more premium feel.
which one would actually make you buy?
some recent ecom work :)
two completely different products so i tried not to force them into the same design style
kinda curious which one you’d click first
designed this PDP for an anti acne patch made for athletes :)
the hardest part was explaining a product most people don’t even know exists without making the page feel like a science lesson 😭
pretty happy with how it turned out. thoughts?
working on the first section of a new client pdp today.
trying to make the product clear straight away without putting everything on the screen at once.
still early but i like where this is going.
would love honest feedback what would you improve first?
my entire feed is outbid clones rn 😭
drop the best / weirdest one you've built or found.
I want to see how far this trend has gone ↓
most brands want to see how i work before committing to a full project.
