She runs a small business of oxidised jewellery, a favourite product of women.
See the number of parcels people returned after wearing in Navratri. Seller will bear the loss because dehatis don’t care.
This is the story of every other seller these days.
You can rent the jewellery from nearby stores. Don’t misuse the service. But of course, “apna kaam banta-bhaad me jaaye janta” is the real philosophy people of this country live by.

INTERESTING: “If every citizen becomes a journalist, it will create problems for all,” says CJI Surya Kant.
With a mobile phone, every citizen can now document events and hold power to account. Not everyone is a professional journalist, but every citizen has a right to free expression.
Your Lordships, stand by the CONSTITUTION, not STATE POWER!🙏
The distance between BKC and Dharavi in Mumbai, Jantar Mantar, and Lutyens in Delhi is not huge, but the difference is. These contrasts underscore the growing disparity. #GenZprotest #jantarmantar #Indianeconomy #protest

Proud moment for ET’s Joel Rebello @joel_rebET who first broke on 15 July that Fairfax bid of Rs81 was acceptable to the government. Getting the scoop on pricing of what’s the largest all-time stake sale by the state is no small feat. Kudos Joel!

TOp 3 private banks- HDFC, ICICI and Axis- reporting Q2 results this Saturday Oct 17. Damn unfair, I think. Can’t they spare us the one Navratri weekend we get? Wish SEBI makes a rule banning results announcements on days when stock markets are shut.

No, I have not been transferred from FDA.
I continue to serve as Commissioner, FDA Maharashtra. Our fight against unsafe, substandard, adulterated food and spurious, substandard drugs goes on.

This excerpt from the article by @amoldethe actually recommends a few things to startups and small businesses without stating them explicitly. (Especially if you have larger businesses as customers)
- Manage cash flows well. Understand every Rupee going in and out of the business. (Not that you did not have to do this earlier, but even more of a reason now)
- Have realistic projections/guidance for impact on the business due to factors not in your control. Say a customer delays orders, or a customer's spending propensity decreases. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. (Simulating and preparing for bad times helps prevent knee-jerk reactions and mistakes)
- Manage working capital - ensure the teams know the importance of managing working capital and the cost of not doing it. (Maybe you dont need to raise a new round, and just need to manage working capital)
- And expect fundraising to take longer. (Remember, investors will ask themselves - Will the return on this investment be higher than the cost of capital?)

There are very few actors who go beyond their craft & become a sensibility unto themselves.
For example, say “Brando” & you evoke not just an actor, but a whole attitude, a swagger, a way of looking at the world.
Nana Patekar belonged to that rare tribe.
I met him only a couple of times & only at large events, so I cannot claim to have known him personally. But then, you didn’t need to meet Nana to feel you KNEW him.
Because “Nana Patekar” had come to mean something. Individuality.
Authenticity.
A refusal to conform.
And a wicked sense of humour.
He became a character larger than any he played.
Indian cinema has lost a remarkable actor. But Indian folklore has lost something even rarer.
An original. A man who became his own adjective.
Om Shanti 🙏🏽
