I can't believe we got to make an episode inspired by my Grandma on Craig of the Creek! I was touched reading the reactions of people who were reminded of their own immigrant grandmas and feel so lucky to have been able to tell this story on such an amazing show!

We worked for 5 years to make 100 episodes of animation. We worked late into the night, we let ourselves go, we were a family of hard working artists who wanted to make something beautiful, and HBO MAX just pulled them all like we were nothing. Animation is not nothing!

Fun fact: if animators were as common to see in the US TV animation production pipeline as storyboard artists, editors, designers etc, none of this discourse would be happening. The fact studios created pipelines that outsourced the job our industry is named after is the problem.
