“Al-Qassam you make us proud. Kill another soldier now”
Anti-war protestors gathered in New York City yesterday evening to hold a vigil for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and all martyrs of US imperialism.
59% of Americans oppose the US war against Iran.

Columbus Day makes Italians part of the foundational story of settler colonialism.
Columbus Day has always held special meaning for my family.
My father was the son of Italian immigrants who came to America with little more than hope and a willingness to work hard. He never forgot where he came from, and neither have I.
Generations of Italian Americans helped build New York and this nation, overcoming prejudice and hardship through sacrifice, determination and an unwavering belief in the American Dream.
Their contributions deserve our gratitude, their heritage deserves our respect, and their traditions deserve to be celebrated, not diminished.
Happy Columbus Day! 🇮🇹🇺🇸

Crazy we missed this. Thanks for sharing. Appreciate all the work/sacrifice @CallaWalsh does and all the bullshit they have to put up with.
🚨 From Democratic Wunderkind to Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist: Calla Walsh Explains Her Radicalization and Embrace of the “Axis of Resistance”
Calla Walsh's political trajectory has taken her from a rising star in Democratic Party activism to the DSA, increasingly militant anti-imperialist organizing, and clandestine direct action. Now living in Lebanon, she produces pro-“Axis of Resistance” propaganda and encourages secular leftists to embrace the revolutionary theology of Shia Islamism.
Reflecting on her direct-action activities, Walsh acknowledges that her actions were “flawed tactically” and argues that clandestine operations are more effective when participants avoid imprisonment.
“I do think that is one aspect that I'm proud of, that we instilled fear in these people.”
She then invokes Casey Goonan, Elias Rodriguez, and Jakhi McCray as examples of people being punished for what she calls “direct action.” Rodriguez is accused of murdering two Israeli Embassy staffers. Goonan and McCray both firebombed police vehicles.
Walsh's ideological trajectory doesn't stop there. She encourages secular leftists to engage with Shia Islamism and the revolutionary religious ideology associated with Iran's Axis of Resistance.
“I think it's very important for, like, secular leftists or secular anti-imperialists must engage with the revolutionary liberation theology [Shia Islamism] that is the propelling force of the Axis of resistance.”
And perhaps most revealing is how she characterizes this transformation as entirely understandable.
“Yeah, reality is radicalizing.”
She goes further, arguing that “something is wrong with you if you aren't radicalized at this point.”

Worth remember that price inflation in the USA is driven above all by the complete lack of federal, state, & local enforcement of laws against anticompetitive, monopolistic business practices -- stratagems to which capitalists will constantly resort if not regulated by the state.
Why are hotels so expensive? A new lawsuit alleges that travel website Expedia is rigging the entire market, exploiting its leverage over 80% of all online bookings to inflate hotel prices in every booking channel by 15-30%.
It's an economy-wide price fixing scheme, not unlike what Amazon does to retail. /

I want him to mourn martyred Hamas and Hezbollah fighters. They were at least honorable native sons of the land defending their homes, not foreign colonizers on stolen land.
If @NYCMayor @ZohranKMamdani’s rhetoric is just common sense enlightened “humanism” that values all life, let me ask you how many Western politicians, including “progressives,” would dare to “make room to mourn” Russian, Syrian or Iranian soldiers?
Aren’t they human too?

Internal emails shows the Biden state department was referring to what happened to me as “kidnapping” by IDF - and even then they didn’t say a single thing publicly.
The State Department has finally responded to my FOIA request for internal emails about my arrest and incarceration by the IDF. The release includes 105 pages of emails sent and received while I was in prison, followed by another 41 pages from the period when I remained inside Israel, without my phone or passport, and subjected to more than 20 hours of interrogation. The emails reveal U.S. officials scrambling behind the scenes to figure out how to handle my case. Despite all the internal activity, the State Department said absolutely nothing publicly about my case.
On the very same day I was blindfolded and arrested at a checkpoint outside of Nablus, a State Dept. official sent a memo to everyone saying "The 7th Floor (Blinken) and the White House are tracking this story closely."

And the U.S. has killed w/o trial, over 238 Caribbean & Latin American men in boats & the U.S. military then circulates their murders online. Catholic teaching on the inviolability & dignity of human life should apply to these extrajudicial killings too.
The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person. The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption. #NoDeathPenalty

Bookmark this tweet because she will do a complete 180, just like @AOC and @ZohranKMamdani will be bootlicking NYPD and ICE as soon as she takes office.
Yesterday, an ICE agent opened fire in Marble Hill. They shot a member of our community in the neck while he was in his car. His five-year-old kid was in a child seat in the back of the car when ICE agents fired at least 7 rounds into it. This was in the middle of the afternoon, with children walking home from school and people heading home from work. Federal agents put every one of them in danger.
When I was in Marble Hill last night I saw NYPD officers rapidly escalating violence. As I was trying to de-escalate, I was shoved to the ground by an officer. I witnessed unmarked law enforcement cars hitting protestors as NYPD officers pushed people out of its path. And instead of condemning ICE’s violence, Police Commissioner Tisch attempted to justify the shooting by reading off our neighbor’s past interactions with police.
The NYPD spent more time protecting a militia that just shot someone than protecting New Yorkers. Last night, the NYPD and Commissioner Tisch violated the spirit, if not the letter, of our sanctuary city policies and fueled the Trump Administration’s attempt to demonize our communities. The NYPD’s Strategic Response Group must be disbanded as quickly as possible, and Commissioner Tisch must step down.
In this district, there are mothers who are afraid to send their kids to school, workers who are afraid to show up for their shifts, and people who won’t call for help anymore because they can’t be sure who will come. That’s what it means to have a violent militia operating in your community. You don’t feel safe walking down your own street.
For decades, we’ve been told ICE can be fixed with more oversight, better training, or reform. But you can’t reform an agency whose purpose is to terrorize immigrant families. You can’t train cruelty out of a system built to enact cruelty. ICE must be abolished.
This moment demands that everyone step up. Elected officials at every level need to stop hedging and say it plainly: Abolish ICE now. Our city must enforce every sanctuary protection we have and city officials must ensure this cannot happen again.

Now that the war is over the DEA can quit pretending that none of the heroin in America comes from Afghanistan, a gigantic lie that the DEA perpetuated for 15+ years so that people wouldn’t connect the overdose crisis at home with US support for Afghan drug lords like this guy.

A perfect example of @KenRoth repeating the consensus narrative on Nicaragua and ignoring facts. The 'exile' he mentions organized a torture center during the 2018 coup attempt, benefitted from the 2019 amnesty and fled the country when he was released. Do you normally defend torturers, Mr Roth?
A Nicaraguan exile who was imprisoned and tortured after protesting against that country’s dictatorial government was deported by the Trump administration back to his country, where he was immediately imprisoned once again by authorities. trib.al/Kw5r1pD
