LAFC’s problems start deep, in the buildup. When you rely on attacking in transition, you need a 6 who is defensive AND can progress the ball quickly. LAFC bringing in a destroyer (Igor) made no sense. At the same time, you want CBs who can break lines. If you don’t have either,

And this is why Long/Igor are frustrating. I don’t think they’re bad players, but we shouldn’t expect them to progress the ball, bc that’s not their forte. Replacing Ilie and Chiellini with poor passers and never quite filling the roles (for years now) has been our doom imo

This also has something to do with why great players like Giroud could never unlock at LAFC, but that’s another convo for another day 🙃

you end up with what we’ve been seeing: Delgado has to step back as an outlet, and our midfield shifts. Unnecessary lateral passes + being 20 yards deeper throws off our timing, and we’re LATE getting the ball forward in space. We’ve gotta fix this if we want to unlock our front

Started filming to catch the final whistle, and ended up catching Reyna’s insane goal. Perfect end to a perfect night 🫶🏻 – at Los Angeles, CA

One thing I hope Spurs fans know is how loved Son will be here. Not just bc he’s a great player…we know how *special* he is. LA is a city of immigrants who know football, people here have been watching him forever. It’s the perfect place for him to land. Welcome to the club🖤💛

Love when you guys tweet during sports games. The whole post will just be some guy’s name in all caps, no context. I’m gonna start doing that with boys I like. JOSH O’CONNOR

It seems so hard to shake off the little brother/homegrown vibes when you grew up in a club and are adored and always under the team’s wing. The way Ordaz has shaken that off this year — not just that he’s stronger and better, but the way his attitude has shifted — is crazy

It’s impressive how quickly Delgado has endeared himself to me as a player/leader…seeing him jump around excitedly in the north end like this seals it
