Every time you stream a movie, join a video call, or ask an AI a question, data is moving through a network that was designed, built, and stress-tested to make that moment feel effortless.
Step inside the @awscloud product development lab where engineers are quietly building the networking technology that keeps the modern world connected, one wavelength of light at a time. 🧵⬇️
This is one of the biggest Kindle redesigns since the original Paperwhite. ⬇️
The team redesigned the devices from the ground up, beginning with a reverse-stack display —a first for e-readers.

Last year, 85+ million people read on Kindle. They read more than 720 billion pages, an all-time high. This is what comes next.
BIG NEWS from @awscloud and @nvidia 🤝
We're announcing a major expansion of our strategic collaboration for next-gen AI infrastructure. ⬇️
Building on 16 years of joint innovation, AWS will deploy 2 million additional NVIDIA GPUs across its global infrastructure in 2027–2028—and that's just the start. The two companies are deepening their work together across AI factories, CPUs, networking, open models, data processing, and robotics.
This expansion gives customers even more ways to build and deploy AI at scale.
Amazon's drones are reinventing what fast means. Here's an inside look at the future of delivery. ⚡
Nearly all items 5 pounds or less that fit in a large shoebox can be delivered ultrafast by drone—we're talking snacks, headphones, last-minute gifts, and more. Our drones use onboard cameras and sensors for navigation, obstacle detection, and safe delivery. Oh, and they're fully electric and can fly in light rain and a range of temperatures. ⬇️
Before it ever ships, Amazon packaging gets dropped, shaken, squeezed, and slammed in a lab designed to push it to the limit. ⬇️
Behind the scenes at Amazon's Packaging Innovation Lab, durability tests help us make sure reduced packaging, easier to recycle materials, and sometimes even the product’s own packaging can protect products during shipping.
✅ Drop tests simulate the bumps of transit
✅ Vibration tables replicate the rumble of road and air transport
✅ Compression machines mimic stacking in a truck
The result is less material, less waste, and packaging built to go the distance.
Matt Wood spent nearly 15 years helping build @awscloud AI—including Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Bedrock. Now, he's back as AWS Chief AI and Technology Officer.
@SwamiSivasubram caught up with him to talk tokens, agents, @amazonquick, and the state of AI. See how it went. ⬇️
There's a surprising amount of science behind the packaging your order arrives in.
At Amazon's fulfillment centers, machine learning algorithms help analyze millions of products to figure out the best way to package each one. They determine what size, what material, and whether it even needs added packaging at all.
The result: protecting products with less waste, one package at a time. Take a look at how it works. ⬇️
Amazon's new smart delivery glasses are like a wearable AI assistant for delivery drivers. 👓
These innovative AI-powered glasses put everything a driver needs directly in their line of sight: package scanning, walking directions, proof of delivery, hazard detection, and more. All without ever pulling out a phone.
Hundreds of Delivery Service Partner drivers helped design these glasses from scratch. Here's how they're making deliveries safer and more seamless. ⬇️
If your chips and models aren't built in lockstep, you're already behind.
At @VivaTech, Amazon SVP Peter DeSantis—who leads a new org uniting foundation models and custom chips—explained why they have to develop together, not in sequence. 🤝
"If the chips are not telling the model designers what capabilities are coming and where they can optimize, then we're not doing the science necessary to take advantage of those capabilities until the chips are available—and then you're waiting months and months."
Amazon has been doing this since day one. That’s why Trainium is a chip of choice for AI companies building applications from large language models to world models and more.
Introducing the next iteration of the @zoox robotaxi. ⬇️
After 500,000+ rides, the robotaxi has been improved through real rider feedback.
What's new: a more comfortable cabin, a brighter touchscreen and improved charging pad, a refreshed interior, and new exterior cues that make it even easier to distinguish the robotaxi’s front from its rear. The vehicle still has no steering wheel, no pedals, and drives in both directions. Now it's moving into large-scale production.
