New: @BetoORourke has a clear message for Texas Democrats following their historic victories Tuesday: deliver. O'Rourke thinks Dems should do 3 things in 2027: -Expand Medicaid. -Raise the state minimum wage. -Increase public school teacher salaries. dallasnews.com/news/politics…

“I regret not spending more against Angie” instead of “I regret not investing more in our nominee, Angie” is a willllld take Especially when your last filing shows you’re sitting on a $4m+ war chest. @AngieNixon crushed the primary because she focused on the issues of affordability, and met her neighbors where they were at. She closed a 16-point gap from ‘22 to a slim 2-point margin this election. Angie & her team are the reason Florida is in play for ‘28. Angie & her team deserve their flowers & well deserved rest for helping break the FL Republican supermajority.
Now that the midterms are over, let me correct the record.  -I wasn't handpicked by Chuck Schumer. I didn't even talk to the man until after I announced.  I’m not sure exactly what a corporate or establishment Dem is, but I’m pretty sure it’s not a first-time candidate or a career military guy. Call me a moderate, I’ll take it. I always think big, but I don’t let idealism get in the way of getting a job done. I’m practical and would take Medikids and lower age limits for Medicare to expand healthcare and drive down costs over nothing at all. In 2028 after a Dem trifecta, I expect bold moves. -Be an asshole and call me a carpetbagger! So I moved here four years ago, AFTER SERVING IN THE FOR 21 years. I'm here with my family, raising my daughter, and caring for my elderly parents in SoFlo. I decided to run because it was clear that the midterms would trigger a Blue Tsunami, because Trump sucks. And I saw a path to win the general election. I jumped-in to help. Call it a call to serve. Same one from a lifetime of service. Let's just say I was very skeptical, because hey its Florida, but I wasn't going to sit on my ass when the stakes were so high. No I didn’t move to Florida to run for Senate! 🙄 -I have some regrets, but even in losing, I delivered 1.5M to Florida candidates and to races that would have otherwise been left short-changed. I feel that in some small way I pitched in to help break the super majorities in the Florida House and Senate. -I invested 3M in total to campaigns and parties around the country including Iowa, Ohio, Alaska, etc., including in Kansas and South Carolina when few were looking there. -I wish I had chosen to outspend Angie 20, 10, or even 5 to 1 on the primary. I only spend 2:1 on the primary. Obviously a HUGE mistake. I was too focused on defeating Moody and building real democratic power. -Angie was tireless in making her case to primary voters, while I was trying to connect with potential crossover voters without first securing my base.  -I neglected to heed the old maxim always fight and finish the battle in front of you. -I never took a penny from AIPAC. Those claiming otherwise, when they knew better, were playing to the old Jewish dual allegiance troupe.

Brenda is a superstar — beloved in Michigan and across Washington and with the governing chops to help AES get off to a fast start. A phenomenal choice. He’s looking to have an immediate impact for Michigan.
New in @playbookdc: Brenda Abdelall has been named Sen.-elect Abdul El-Sayed’s (D-Mich.) transition director.

Beto has testified against multiple voter suppression bills at the state capitol. Last summer, he dropped everything to join the fight against redistricting. He spent his summer batting away a Ken Paxton lawsuit because he helped Dems break quorum. In this house, we love Beto.
So proud of Gina, so proud of James, so proud of Texas!

Today, I’m humbled to be elected by my colleagues as Speaker of the Michigan House! When my parents immigrated to this country, they couldn’t have imagined their son would one day make history, break barriers and lead the Michigan House. That is the promise of America. Michiganders sent us to Lansing with a clear message: lower costs and make life more affordable for working families. Our Majority is ready to deliver, and I look forward to working with Senate Majority Leader-Elect @darrincamilleri and Governor-Elect @JocelynBenson to get it done. Thank you to my colleagues for your trust. Excited to get to work!

I am so freaking proud of this man @FSAnwarTX ! The TEAM he built and the campaign he ran and his absolutely tireless work ethic PLUS his deep understanding and passion for HISTORY and for CONTEXT are so rare and so valuable. I could not be more grateful 🙏💙 And of course this inside joke was a lovely theme in our campaign, but my dude! - the strategy and camaraderie and humor made the hard work and gruelling schedule FUN too. I'm proud of you beyond words....and we freaking DID this!! Congratulations my brother, you deserve the credit and the flowers 🌹
In 2025, @bofrench asked Twitter, "Who is a bigger threat to America: Muslims or Jews?" Today, a Jewish engineer and his Muslim campaign manager ran circles around him across the entire state of Texas. Hope you got your answer, Bo. #txlege #RRC

In all of this, let’s not forget the Democrats who ran before. Especially Stacey Abrams in Georgia and Beto O’Rourke in Texas. They laid the groundwork, and when they lost, they stayed and helped build the infrastructure for the next person. You have to invest in these states, even when you lose. And thank God for that investment.
Stacey Abrams ran so Keisha Lance Bottoms could soar.

Tonight, I make a solemn promise to every single Texan. Whether you voted for me or Governor Abbott, or felt so betrayed by a broken politics that you did not vote at all. Hear what Texas said today, loud and clear: Your government belongs to you. And as your governor, I will never forget it. There will be no special set of rules for the wealthy and powerful. No looking the other way when someone in my own party does wrong. The trust you have placed in me tonight is not a blank check. It is a sacred responsibility. And I intend to earn it every single day.

This man has great instincts. @JBPritzker and his incredible team saw something in @GinaHinojosaTX that others missed. His support - both financial and otherwise - gave us legitimacy and helped signal to donors that this was a race worth investing in. We are very, very grateful.
Scoop: With Democrats headed to Congress with a resounding mandate for change, IL Gov. JB Pritzker - a potential 2028 candidate- is urging his party to advance an aggressive legislative and oversight agenda on Day One. He has a 75-page roadmap. nbcnews.com/politics/congres…
