ALVI Labs is raising pre-seed investments! We need your help!
Imagine being able to move your fingers again years after a stroke. That's what our neural interfaces are making possible - and it's not just an idea, it's already starting to happen.
Our team is building AI-powered neural interfaces to help stroke survivors move their fingers again. It transforms muscle signals into intended motions in VR, creating a feedback loop that rewires the brain's neural pathways.
We've started pilot testing with stroke survivors in clinic, and the early results are impressive. After just eight hours of training.
"I'm starting to feel muscles in my hand that I haven't felt since before the stroke." - Ani
"Imagining hand movements is getting easier now." - Valery
Now, we're seeking $450K in pre-seed funding (1) to build an EMG armband, (2) to conduct full clinical tests, and (3) to secure commercial partnerships with rehab centers in the US.
Our mission extends beyond stroke recovery. We aim to help all those who've lost limb function through future R&D(including people with amputation)

Muscle-To-Motion Competition 2024
You've got 21 days to cook up the world's best prosthetic control system. This is the BCI competition, organized by @alvilabs and @BCI_init
Task: Predict finger movements from the muscle activation(EMG).
Deadline: August 5, 2024
Dataset: We've recorded 10+ hours of data from both healthy and amputee subjects.
We asked people to make different finger movements (simple moves, gestures, static moves). We recorded muscle activity using Myo Thalmic Armband ( 8 electrodes, 200Hz). Plus, we captured hand positions with 20 DoF at 25 Hz.
This isn't just classification - it's a full regression challenge. We'll test your model on a real amputee. Your code could directly impact someone's life.
Time to create some next-level shit and maybe, just maybe, revolutionize prosthetics. Let’s fun.❤️

ALVI labs is the best in nomination "XR for cause" at @lavalvirtual 2024.
Our founders, @koval_alvi and @nnmkrv visited this conference. That was exciting opportunity to connect with VR/XR World community.
We presented a muscle interface designed for people with hand amputations.
Big thanks to the organizers and everyone involved.
Thrilled to announce our graduation from @StartupWiseGuys ' XR Pre-Acceleration Program! A huge thanks to the organizers for their invaluable insights and support. Grateful for connecting with our talented cohort. Let's keep moving forward together! #XR #StartupWiseGuys
ALVI Labs Joins NVIDIA Inception.
Happy to share that we became a member of the @nvidia Inception Program. Our goal is to help people to overcome hand motor disabilities.

Weekly Update | Jan 22 - Feb 12, 2024
- ALVI hand's waitlist now includes 22 people.
- ALVI Rehab consists of two stages: mirrored therapy and biofeedback.
- We have almost fully ported our app to a VR headset. Currently, we are using a PC only for the model's inference and sending predictions via a local network.
- In the previous version, we fine-tuned the model and performed inference on the same PC. Now, we have separated these functions and implemented server-based model fine-tuning.
- We have refactored a lot of outdated code.
Hope we'll meet you soon @SkyDeck_Cal and @natfriedman
Last week's updates | 01 - 22 Jan
- Incorporated C Corp in Delaware. ALVI Labs Inc.
- Waitlist for ALVI Hand -> 20 people.
- Start to partner with the rehab center. Get a letter of intent from 1 center in Georgia(country).
- Rewrite our AI model in hackable and minimalist style with 500 lines of code. Big thanks to litgpt and nanogpt by @karpathy
