Yes! One of my favorite books about consciousness, "Action in Perception" by @alvanoe, argues that the process of piecing together the shape of an object from a sequence of touches, via a *skillful sensorimotor loop* is the essence of consciousness. "On the enactive view, all perception is ... like touch."
