Government’s statement on housing quotes @AngelaRayner as saying it’s “not just a professional responsibility but a moral obligation to see more homes built”.
It’s also a moral obligation to ensure those homes are environmentally sustainable. gov.uk/government/news/housi…
Only worked with Jane for a short time. Her authenticity, energy and passion were a force to be reckoned with. She also knew a thing or two about marketing, engagement, IT and developing relationships.
Postal vote in the bag. Hopefully by the time I get back to blighty we'll have a different government to moan about! So much for them to do... – at Oporto, Portugal
Yep.... that's why SuDS and spongifying our cities (😉 @al_chisholm) are a no brainer. Delivering the four pillars of SuDS -flood mgt, pollution control, biodiversity and better places and spaces... 🌳🌿💧🌏💡
Fascinating how many measures that protect your home from flooding, also protect rivers from road runoff pollution, & our land from drought - fantastic stuff 👏

One of the best publicly-accesible rewilding sites in London is due to be enclosed & destroyed for artificial pitches for @SpursOfficial. I visited Whitewebbs Park in Enfield to see why it’s special & why local people are against this destructive sell off by @EnfieldCouncil 🧵

Do vote for the #floodresilient Lego house to be manufactured.
An amazing way to raise #floodawareness & promote the use of #PFR & #floodresilient gardens.
(& there's a FloodMary character into the bargain.)

Up to 1 in 6 homes in England at flood risk.
England ave 28% owned with a mortgage or loan.
Quick maths up to 1.2 million households potentially impacted if this became a trend.
It's not just home insurance that's a problem re flood risk.

Had a great conversation with @Niki_Roach_ host of @PlanetP_ossible on bioresources. A 'wicked problem' with no single solution. Hence why collaboration is needed together with the right regulations and innovation. Leadership is required on this and greater source control. – at Birmingham, England
"Only two tools in the belt" according to @georgiaes @FightDirtyOrg - public opinion and legal enforcement. But shouldn't we be handling sewage sludge/bioresources better anyway? It's a touchy issue in the water sector, making this ep a must listen:

This is a good news! The polluter pays principle in action.
The polluter should bear the costs of cleaning drinking water from #PFAS. This will encourage all other PFAS producers to minimize various forms of this toxic pollutant and prevent further damage to public health.
