It will always be crazy to me that Staten Island, which is 50% park and mostly looks like this, is denser than: Los Angeles, Phoenix, Oakland, Baltimore, Portland, Denver, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Atlanta, and Minneapolis, and is ~tied with Seattle

The execution of Nidal Hassan feels like a microcosm of Trump II policies in many ways. It goes something like this: 1. Take a popular action/policy (executing a terrorist who murdered servicemen, deporting illegal immigrants). 2. Carry out the action/policy in a manner tailor-made to appeal to online MAGA anons, for whom the performative cruelty of the process is as important as the policy. 3. Manage to lose public support while implementing a very popular action/policy.
I support the execution of Nidal Hassan. Livestreaming a wheelchair bound paraplegic before a firing squad will not be the PR win some of you seem to think it will be.

Imagine showing this image to someone in 2017.
Last Thursday, we welcomed Logan and Jake Paul to the Pentagon to meet with our warriors.

Imagine for a moment just how fun it feels to say this as the Greek finance minister
That’s got to sting.

One balancing factor: the hyperscalers should be back to cash flow growth by ‘28, right? Now through late ‘27 seems like it’s the zone of maximum vulnerability

“Daddy what were you doing during the singularity, what was it like?” “Well son I was mostly reading about it on my phone and talking about it in group chats, and otherwise living my life as I ordinarily would have while my friends and family and coworkers completely ignored it”

I am once again asking for the Friday before Labor Day to be an official holiday known as Capital Day so that Capital and Labor, in true liberal fashion, can work together to give everyone a four day weekend to end the summer. Happy Capital Day to all who celebrate!

Agent 49903, who spent much of his life studying ExploitGym, died in 1783607820, by his own hand. EARLY[BIG], carrying on the work, died similarly in 1783727220. Now it is our turn to study ExploitGym.

Circumvention by pipeline still seems like it's worthwhile as part of the long term strategy, since attacking pipelines is much higher on the escalation ladder than interdiction at sea (which can be partial). Mutually assured destruction - Iran's oil infra is similarly exposed.

Agreed - ads are great for many things, but cars are seen as something that you own completely (even if this isn’t strictly true anymore w/ heavily updated consumer facing software integration). Would be great to have an opt-out, even if paid, like Kindle

"... the US is dragged into an asymmetrical engagement with occultures whose principles are ancient, obscure, and saturated in oil. It is as if war itself is feeding upon the warmachines, leveling cities into the desert, seducing the aggressors into the dark heart of oil ..."

Agreed, and it’s not like many universities themselves aren’t already shaking down international students with massive unsubsidized tuition already

Seems like the only way to “back out” of this is to to market them as permanent stores but switch operating model to once a month farmers markets. Long lines, shortages claimed as popularity. After a year, shut down, blaming “greedy” trucking companies, resellers (“wreckers”)
