Introducing @PoeticHQ: a new AI system that executes complex multi-hour tasks with 99%+ accuracy and 10x fewer tokens than agents. We raised $50M at $500M from Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, First Harmonic, and Genius Ventures to build AI that does complex work inside Fortune 500 companies without hallucination. While code is too brittle, agents are too unpredictable. The work that runs the global economy - anti-money laundering, fraud investigations, underwriting - needs extreme accuracy. So we built a new kind of software that pairs the flexibility of AI with the predictability of code. When the world stays the same, Poetic runs fixed code: fast, cheap, identical every time. When the world changes, Poetic uses AI to regenerate its approach and find its way back to the objective. In one year, we went from zero to an eight-figure run rate as a team of four. Since then, we’ve scaled the team and executed the highest-stakes processes at AIG, SoFi, and Chime. At SoFi, a large US bank, Poetic reached 99%+ quality on fraud investigations in five weeks.

I have been constipated my entire life .. like so many other women. Our digestive systems simply don’t function as they should… I also realized there was no good solution. NO ONE wants to walk into a CVS and buy Miralax.. no one. So I created takeletloose.com

I was sad to learn that Charlie Munger died today at age 99. What a life. He would likely roll his eyes and argue that none of us should be too surprised, based on the actuarial tables, but we’ve lost one of the 20th century’s greatest investors and businessmen. Chris and I were lucky enough to get to know Charlie over the past few years. There’s a saying, ā€œDon’t meet your heroes; they will only let you down.ā€ In this instance, the quote does not apply. Charlie was exactly how he appeared, the same person whether he was being interviewed on CNBC, hosting dinner at his home, or negotiating a deal. We could all learn a thing or two from him about how to play the (very) long game. Here are four things he said to us that stuck: ā€œI don’t need the last dollarā€ We heard Charlie say this many times while discussing potential deals. Either it was a good deal, or it wasn’t. He didn’t need to chisel out a few more percent and risk bad feelings. ā€œHold your nose and carry onā€ Charlie wasn’t one to dwell on the past, unless there was an important lesson to learn for the future. He expected things to occasionally go wrong and having learned from the error, he moved on. ā€œIt’s foolish to try to change someone’s mindā€ When we asked him for advice about a difficult person we were working with and how we could convince them to change course, Charlie told us not to waste our energy trying to change their mind. ā€œThey think what they think,ā€ he told us—it was locked in. We were better off simply aligning ourselves with people who already think the way we do. ā€œIt’s a mistake to be deeply ideological about almost anything - it’s better to have doubtā€ On just about every topic—even investing—Charlie’s frequent refrain was ā€œit’s hard...ā€ The intellectual equivalent of folding your cards in a game of poker when you aren’t sure about your hand. Charlie didn’t need to have a firm opinion about everything. (Ok, maybe cryptocurrency.) If you’re curious to learn more about Charlie, I highly recommend his book, Poor Charlie’s Almanac, as well as The Tao of Charlie Munger by David Clark. It’s a wonderful collection of some of his best quotes, and the audiobook is great. We’ll miss you, Charlie.

RIP Charlie Munger
My favorite Charlie Munger story: In 1953, Munger was 29 years old. Recently divorced. Lost the house. Huge social stigma of divorce back then. His 8-year-old son, Teddy, was diagnosed with cancer. The leukemia was incurable. No medical insurance - Munger paid for all his medical care. Charlie would visit Teddy in the hospital every day -- and then walk the streets crying. Teddy died at the age of 9. Charlie was broke, divorced and just lost his child. 99.9% of people would've turned to alcohol, drugs, or suicide. (And you'd understand why) Munger never did. Fast forward to 52 years old, a failed surgery left him blind in one eye with the potential of going fully blind one day. Charlie was an obsessive learner who read every book he could get his hands on. When confronted with the possibility of going blind and no longer being able to read he said: "It's time for me to learn braille!" The only thing that might be more impressive than his intellect was his actions. RIP. --------- Munger on Self-Pity: "Generally speaking, envy,Ā resentment, revenge, and self-pity are disastrous modes of thought. Self-pity gets pretty close to paranoia… Every time you find your drifting into self-pity, I don’t care what the cause, your child could be dying from cancer, self-pity is not going to improve the situation. It’s a ridiculous way to behave. Life will haveĀ terrible blows, horrible blows, unfair blows, it doesn’t matter. Some people recover and others don’t. There I think the attitude of Epictetus is the best. He thought that every mischance in life was an opportunity to behave well. Every mischance in life was an opportunity to learn something and that your duty was not to be immersed in self-pity, but to utilize the terrible blow in a constructive fashion. That is a very good idea."

I'm thankful for the new wave of talented artists using new technology to create their art. When reflecting on art history, most disruptive movements rarely align with the old world, and that's a positive development. I'm excited about what's coming next. Happy thanksgiving my friends ā£ļø
